HBK definitely fucked over Vader

Well, Vader was stiff and his wrestling gear smelled really bad it seems. I liked Sid in his spot in '96 better anyway, but that's just me.
Vader could have gotten over if he maintained his weight but just like Yokozuna and Ahmed he let himself go. And he should have been mature in handling things like with what he did in Kuwait. Or even his fight with Orndorff.

Just watched the New Day breakup angle. I really hope something good comes of it, because the segment on its own just might be one of the best done segments in WWE history. Big E especially killed it. The moment where Woods calls him a burden and you can hear the mic falling from Big E's hands was perfect. Their performances hand the audience so engaged, they didn't even need to have the standard "attack the babyface partner for heat" moment usually seen when stables splinter apart. Kofi and Woods got that same level of heat just by shaking hands at the end.

Just goes to show that less is, indeed, more. The moment Kofi put his hand on Big E's chest to hold him back said more and showed more emotion than words could in that moment. The facial expressions from Kofi and Xavier were great throughout and contrasted so well with the shock and dismay from Big E. And the crowd! Just fucking eating out of the palm of their hands and hanging on every word. Promos and segments have gotten such a huge upgrade since Vince left and the crowds are just as much a part of them. Shit like this is what puts talent over both in the arena and on TV. This is definitely segment of the year for me.

Back to the topic of the Kliq, here's another anti-Smark hot take of mine. I think all the shit about the Kliq holding people down is really overblown. Razor, Shawn, and Diesel got over with the audience on their own. It's not like Sparkplug Holly, Skip, and Adam Bomb were huge threats to them. Those guys weren't really going anywhere, Kliq or no Kliq.

I think this has become the most common sense take in recent years regarding the Kliq. For anyone to think that this group of five guys was holding up the main event scene at a time when the fed was at a low point is ludicrous, especially when over half of them got over on their own. I would argue that they found favor in the eyes of McMahon for being leagues above the majority of the talent and thus got more favorable booking. But to imply that these dudes had that much control over who got into the main event space and when? Maybe on Planet Retard, but not in the McMahon WWF. There's no way McMahon would have allowed talent to run the gamut in any way.

I'd laugh, but that would be a waste of oxygen that some poor tree made for me.

Rene Dupree got absolutely trashed and did a livestream with Teddy Hart
Damn, that stream is close to being lost media. One copy got taken down. Here's another one.
Dude.
Dupree at around 12 minutes,

Now, he said he was on benzos and had mixed them with alcohol. Well, later in the video, he looks like he's eating...something, it's not cocaine, but I guess it's the pills he shouldn't have mixed. Also, fuck, Teddy is still the same. Just babbles on and on, I kept waiting for him to give me a good moment to stop recording.
At around 22, Dupree does sound like he's WASTED. It's even more obvious at 40 minutes, when Dupree reads a comment. MAN...

tl;dr - Dupree definitely needs some help. Damn.

Dupree fucked himself over bad. Noah locked him in as their top gaijin before corona. Then he took the first chance to go back to Canada and ruined everything. Granted there was a period where travel restrictions were in place, but Noah was still feeding him a paycheque to just sit at home.

During this period Noah just asked the two gaijin talent they had, Dupree and El Hijo de Doctor Wagner Jr., to send them in video of any matches they worked so that the footage could be used to keep the two of them fresh in the minds of the Noah audience. Dr. Wagner III sent in some amazing matches he worked as part of a tag team with his father. Like a straight up entire storyline about his father trying to regain his pride as a lucha after having laid down and losing his mask. You don't even have to speak a word of Spanish to understand that these matches had real stakes and the Wagner III was working to redeem his father in the eyes of the fans. Rene sent in one video of himself visibly intoxicated stumbling around a senior center rec room with that fat fuck Hannibal.

When the restrictions lifted Dupree never came back, but Wagner III got a rocket strapped to his ass and moved into upper midcard territory right at the peak of the hottest Noah has been since Misawa died. Not only that, Noah trusted Wagner enough to let him pick out guys from Mexico to go work for Noah and collect a paycheck. Rene could have set himself up as the guy representing Noah to the western audience as well as establishing himself as a go between guy scouting for Japan once he retired. But instead he would rather have been a fucked up alcoholic pillhead.
Just fucking embarrassing.

It makes watching AEW all the more infuriating to me, because these type of segments used to be a strong point for them. Cody crying as he asks for his older brother, MJF laying into William Regal before getting dressed down himself, Dax Harwood's promo about fighting as hard as his 8 year old daughter when she had heart disease, all still resonate with me. Now it's all esoteric insider bullshit and meta commentary no one can even pretend to care about.

With Shane Douglass it's his fault should have agreed with hbk about burying that Canadian tag team in Canada. Is it fucked up yes. But this is wrestling poloitc ur way to the spot and from. What I heard he was an asshole in ecw too and a massive coke head

she hustled the fuck out of Billy Pumpkin
To be fair, by the time Corgan wanted in on TNA, Dixie had already cut her teeth with guys like Bischoff and Hogan walking all over her, so she probably thought "this egghead looking motherfucker wants to come in an fuck with shit too." In hindsight, they're probably better off, seeing what he's done with the shattered remains of the NWA.

If the last few years of wrestling have thought me anything, sometimes it's better to be a complete normie than a mark. Sure, there's a lot of schlock in TNA/Impact during her tenure, but there's a lot of very good stuff in there too.

So it looks like higher-ups at AEW encouraged Ryan Nemeth of all people to antagonise Punk when he was with the company as some sort of passive aggressive scheme to fuck with Phil.

It got to the point where it almost got physical but both guys sort of snapped back to reality and ended up shaking hands and burying the beef because they realized it was bullshit.

Nemeth supposedly got blackballed by the company over this and that's why he sort of just disappeared from AEW.

The statement that the Kliq's influence was overblown is probably true. But they absolutely did have sway over booking decisions and kiboshed a lot of shit.

Vader was mentioned. Say what you will about him, but dude had a presence and was being booked as a monster when he debuted. Shawn throwing a tantrum sunk him.

Bam Bam Bigelow was another guy, who apparently was supposed to get a program post-Lawrence Taylor Wrestlemania and then it fizzled due to alleged Kliq interference.

Shane Douglas was mentioned, but Shane Douglas also sucks so I feel like that's a stopped clock is right sort of thing.

Dave Boy was another guy who got fucked over pretty handily, notably with the European title defense against Michaels where he looked like a complete geek.

I'm also pretty sure that Backlund's title reign was derailed (no loss there, to be fair) and Shawn/Diesel winning the tag straps were also the result of politicking.

Shit happened and I would say careers did suffer for it. They had influence because Vince was kind of up against the wall.

Cody and Rock apparently filmed something at Disney, the rumor is Rock against Cody at Mania, which wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't personally mind
Rock did pin cody so there's an argument there if nothing else it's got potential for the rumble if nothing else and at this point I almost feel like rock vs roman is basically a poisoned chalice after the wrestlemania 40 debacle

It'll be really funny if this happens so that Cody can fuck over the Rock vs Roman guys a third time, the only way it can get funnier is if somehow due to this Rock cucks Punk out of a Mania main event for the third time.

thats a good point, I wouldn't be opposed to Rock vs Roman as a non-title match, but if they want Cody to Main Event then Rock vs Cody is probably the option to go with. if they did Rock vs Roman id say Codys challenger should be Orton, but they could do that at any other time
