They moved when he was a kid, I think sometime between when he was 10-12. He still had family there, though, and when he was 19 or 20 he went to live with one of his uncles in New Jersey who he claimed abused him (because apparently everyone abuses Shmorky) and that's why he left there to go live with blowjob roommate.

But yeah, I've looked over the chatlogs, and aside from @SaltAndGoldMine coming off as needlessly hostile, this stood out to me:

Seems like Dingbat heard the rumors and assumed that what you were talking about, and wasn't even 100% sure until you showed her the email caps.

People like Dingbat, and like the sources I've talked to, weren't alone: they weren't diaper furs or pedos, but if somebody came along with an interesting art style, elbowed their way into their social circles, and also had a fetish that they were completely open about, well, furries more than anyone fall into the Geek Social Fallacies harder than anybody. They figure if the person wasn't harming anybody, and it's all among consenting adults, then they can be into whatever depraved shit they want. You follow somebody on FA, you get updates on their gallery, and you just don't click on their pee-pee art.

By this point, since Sandy has disappeared off of the net, I'm sure most people just assumed she moved on to other things. Nobody really seems to have been close with her, despite her going out of her way to shmooze with big-name hipster furry artists.

Sandy talked about having a girlfriend on Twitter. Was anybody able to find an account for said girlfriend? Just to verify.

My humble deduction, based on animation teaching experience, is that I think Sandy and Shmork are indeed the same artist.
Or at the outside possibility, these are two artists who have have jammed on the project together. Perhaps.

It's little details like the critter's snouts and poses that are classic Kelly "trademarks."
Kelly has a keyframing "bounce" style that is very much recognisable...

Someone a few pages back mentioned some of the similar artists both Peaches and Sandy watched on FurAffinity. One of the artists was FizTheancient. I remember FizTheAncient back on the now defunct Team Artail's Oekaki drawing boards. http://www.teamartail.com/ Team Artail was a Sonic fansite i used to frequent back in the day as a kid as a Sonic fan, but only the Oekaki boards. You can check it out with wayback machine. Fiz was always a regular drawing their Sonic OC, mostly just funny stuff with them and not your average Sonic shit in the Adult BBS section sometimes and the regular one. Though i never saw anything relating to diaperfur from them, unless i did and i don't remember

Though throughout those years, I never saw anything relating to Shmorks at all. They had strict rules, so anything off-topic wasn't allowed. I don't even think Fiz even associated with them since i watched them outside of Team Artail.

As for all of this shit, i just realized i follow Shmorks on tumblr.
I wasn't even aware of his history. Fuck me.

the way they word it sounds like they were in contact with sandy recently. if it matters 16 days ago would be Dec 23.

there's no other current activity that I can see; no new journals or favs.

... Now that I think about it, Partydog seemed to be the closest with Sandypants, and is probably partially responsible for Sandypants getting popular at all. Partydog's Asscastle garnered a level of popularity among the hipster furry set, and then the Fagtastic Four seemed to maintain that level of popularity.
