I don't know dude. In Germany we are coming to the point where our healthcare is crumbling under the weight. My healthcare plan with the company I am with has been raised 1.4% and I've heard from a friend of mine that he got almost 2%. They are raising it because at the end of year there is NOTHING left. My dentist told me last year in December that he wouldn't do my procedure because there is no money left. After some back and forth one issue had to be resolved because a nerve was damaged, which he then paid out of pocket to then hopefully reclaim it from my insurance next year.

I am just saying that with our systems are also far from perfect. So I don't see your high horse just two donkeys in different colours.

As for the healthcare discussion, people are getting worked up about American vs. European but they forget that systems are not so simple. You can have great private healthcare, and you can have great socialized healthcare. But the issue is that both systems still rely on people to run them. Without a high trust society of law abiding citizens and well meaning bureaucrats and administrators it won't matter what system you push for the end result will be shit.

It's almost impossible to magically fix a nation's problems by just copying something another nation did. You can't have Swiss Healthcare without Swiss Taxes, Swiss Societal Hegemony, Swiss Government and Swiss Traditions. You can't just have Japanese Public Transport without Japanese Politeness, Japanese High Trust and Japanese Face Saving Culture.

American culture combined with the constant flood of immigration does not lend well to socialized medicine. We already have partial socialized Healthcare for the poor and old, and illegals have clogged the fucking pipes there. The solution is something that doesn't exist yet.

I don't know how it is in Sweden.

Asked my Swedish friend. Dental care is a subscription that costs about 100USD per year if you have decent teeth, and more if you don’t.

I had healthcare prior to the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and it was great. The reason why it was good is because it was a service which you paid for and they knew you could drop it or switch to a competitor. There were still issues with being "out-of-network," but that had more to do with individual doctors not wanting to pay fees and hospitals being part of certain insurance cartels. Even then, insurance companies actually tried to help you because you were a paying customer.

Then the ACA/Obamacare made it so everyone gets insurance, or else. After that, the quality of health insurance went down because they no longer had to compete or even give a shit. You got in a car accident and they rushed you into a hospital and you saw one nurse and one doctor? Well, the hospital is in-network, but the nurse wasn't and happens to have an LPN RN HQ WTF BBQ series of licensures so you have to pay them 3 different ways that we won't cover because fuck you. And that doctor doesn't take insurance because fuck you. You had no way of knowing that, but fuck you anyway. And all those medications you took cost $1,000 a pop, but we're only going to charge you $100 a piece because fuck you.

Insurance coverage got even more convoluted. The ACA did some good things, like require insurers to cover addiction care (something that saved my life), but its overall effects on the US healthcare system have been terrible.

The only way I have been able to beat this system is to call my state attorney general's sub-office set up specifically for insurance problems, and then complain. To my surprise, these people told me straight up whether they could help me or not, and did so when it was within their power. Blue Cross Blue Shield stops fucking around when an AG tells them to knock it off.

The gunman who assassinated UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown wrote the words “Delay,” “Deny,” and “Defend” — a supposed insurance industry mantra for delaying claims and maximizing profits — on the ammunition he fired at the insurance company head, police sources said Thursday.

Cops found three 9mm shell casings as well as a few live rounds that had been expelled from the pistol as he freed the jam. “Delay, “Deny,” and “Defend” were etched on the bullets, sources said — leading investigators to theorize the gunman may have been outraged at how UnitedHealthcare handled an insurance claim of his or someone close to him.

Word of the eerie message comes as NYPD detectives continued their manhunt and zeroed in on the suspect. On Wednesday night, police executed a search warrant on an Upper West Side home they believe the gunman had visited before the early morning shooting, according to multiple sources.

“They have an idea who he is,” an NYPD source said about the gunman. “A lot of tips are coming in.”

The home police raided was in the West 90s near Columbus Ave., police sources said. Detectives managed to track the gunman there before the 6:45 a.m. shooting outside a Hilton hotel in Midtown.

Even if you look at a place like CA. I was on Medi-Cal when I was having a cancer scare and the company I worked for went out of business. I’m grateful it was there, I was even able to keep the same doctor because they worked at a Medi-Cal clinic one day per week.

But there was a police substation in one of the Medi-Cal facilities I had to go to at the time. It is mostly Mexicans using it and kind of inbred looking white people missing teeth. They would shout at people like nurses and get into shouting matches in the waiting areas.

Medi-Cal is a fine safety net but because Cali has programs like that, they attract Mexican migrants with a 16th C peasant mindset and the worst drifter types in America.

Germany and Sweden are seeing the same thing now. Most Swedish or German men in particular would die of shame before malingering. Sure they’re not all great. Every society has a small share of disabled people and lazy people. But most Northern Europeans really do have that Protestant work ethic. When it’s like 95% sane working people you can have social medicine and near free college. Almost everyone using it also pays into it tax wise.

But you can’t be California opening the floodgates for illiterate people who do nothing but have babies they can’t support. And you can’t be Sweden or Germany since the 2000s. All that does is bring resentful people who just want to use the resources not be a part of society. You see that in California all the time some of those ‘needy migrants’ own land in Mexico and complain they miss their hovel, horses and no hot water because it’s more ‘authentic’ or whatever. They’re just taking never contributing.
