Onizuka was also strong and a genuine badass. Chibi isn't.Great Teacher Onizuka worked part-time doing construction. It's all coming together.
Oh I know it's a problem and it's only going to get worse if Trump follows through. It's like that in every 1st world country. I've talked recently with a few known farmers about the whole Trump-deporting-illegals thing and why don't they just pay more for locals, and they all told me a variation of the story that they did but after the local kid raised on videogames realizes it's not a 9-5 job, but a done when it's done back-breaking labor from dusk 'till dawn 6 days a week, they refuse no matter how much they'd offer to pay them. It's not like the kid needs the money - he can usually live off his parents or social security if he's too much of a fuckup for office work, the state will throw money at people like this so they'd not go out and mug people for rent.
There was a news report once of a farm that was unable to hire anybody to pick their crops so they just said, "show up on this day at this time and take what you want". It was either that or let it rot and plow it under.
But the job situation in Japan is even worse. There's just not enough people even in even white collar jobs to do everything yet their immigration system is still incredibly tough. For the longest time you needed at least a 4 year degree or 10 years documented experience in your field before being able to get a visa to work there. One year in the early 2000's they lowered that requirement to only 8 or 9 years for Indians and suddenly got an influx of Indian engineers applying for visas and positions. That's partly why Japan has so many Indians in IT.
