Given there are many, many disorders out there I think it's very possible for someone to not feel any sexual urges at all. For example a guy that will simply not get a boner at anything. But I also think it's much, much rarer than people claim and that it's a very easy fake label to apply to yourself to try and look oppressed.

Made an account to chime in from an animator's standpoint. If you have knowledge of classic cartoon construction, you can EASILY change art styles. The differences between Sandy and Shmorky are there, but as many have said, they're interchangeable. I've had my art compared to Shmorky's before- for having cartoony art in the same vein, and I've been around the Sandy account back when it was active on Tegaki, FA, etc. As someone who looked up to Shmorky's art, I can say 100% they're the same. I'm actually a bit in awe I never connected it. I've never had a full convo with them or anything, but have definitely shared a comment on art once or twice.

Also, seeing recent photos of Shmorky, and seeing Sandy's name, instantly made me think of this Tegaki pic http://archive.tewi.us/tegaki/dblog.php?u=21875&e=133321

but ye. my 2 cents.

Since you have an animator's standpoint, what do you think of the animation similarities between 'Shmorky' and 'Sandy'?

Yeah I know your stuff, you're a pretty fuckin' high caliber artist/animator so I find it hard to argue with you; I'm pretty shit and only draw on and off sometimes.

That said, do you think it's absolutely not possible that Partydog drew at least the first chunk of Sandypants pictures and defined the style, only for Shmorky to later imitate it? Some of the similarities I pointed out are really glaring to me and a few of them feel kinda subconscious. Shmorky has struggled with versatility in the past (his Flash Tub style could easily be traced back to his Greytown/Dave Bunny era and there are some pictures on his Twitter that feel like a failed attempt to branch out to a more "serious" look)

I feel like it is a pointless distinction, but Shmorky used to be a lot more loose with his art style before he settled with klurfs. You can easily see the Sandy-style in Purple Pussy, and it is more believable that Shmorky influenced Partydog than the other way around.

I would maybe say they were imitating Partydog's style a bit. But if I had to guess, I'd say it was all one person doing the art on Sandy's accounts.

If you're right then it's the other way around cuz Partydog started using Sandypants aesthetics later on. I figured he experimented when drawing Shmorky's shit then applied those experiments to his art later.

I guess the reason I've been adamant in my disagreement is because I've seen Shmorky experiment very little over the years, at least as far as going hugely against his core aesthetic principles.

...I'm starting to see what you guys are saying. Because FUCK, that upper-right drawing does absolutely look like Sandypants anatomy and the left drawing has a similar flat 3/4 look. That's a really, really good catch.

I guess what confused me was how utterly stiff the first few pictures looked. But I guess he could have just been getting used to his new style, or being lazy, or both.

Yeah I was very likely wrong; Partydog got influenced by Shmorky's new style, not the other way around.

I mean I can understand assuming Shmorky was a talentless hack that could only draw klurf shit, but I was a fan of his for a lot of stuff he did outside of SA like Purple Pussy and his Yoshi Comics which I am surprised never came up in this thread since their content is most at-odds with Shmorky as we know him now.

He actually did make an effort but Lauren didn't want to talk about it so they moved on.

I don't blame him for not forcing his daughter to talk about a sexual predator.
