Escape From New York: Louis Rossmann Edition - Hopefully he does not make Texas a bughive

I did reread section 3 to double check if he said I wouldn't be blessed with the privilege of petting his cats, and I think "most" will be alright.

Being humble is a very honorable trait to have. Saying that you failed your cause because in 12 years of advocacy, Apple made their products a living hell to even attempt to disassemble is true, harsh, and honest.

You might not have changed the laws or the corpos, but I know from experience you changed some common people, and they'll have very coloured language & actions towards those so called bullies (involving changing services, no felonious intents) instead of slobbering it up.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the Stop Killing Game movement was partially sparked by your efforts, at least in spirit.

I think you're in a paranoid headspace because of the project you've been working on, staring deep into the abyss of self hosted solutions that require some amount of "the Google is after me" to work with. I am really looking forward to this, by the way. I love your work because you're passionate about it, and this is something that will benefit myself as well.

That said, people say shit about you to demean you and assassinate your character - but who has actually been impacted by it? The UHC CEO actively steered an insurance company into refusing to provide life saving service, destroy children's futures, and decide $10M a year wasn't enough so he defrauded investors. This guy was an actual literal piece of shit. Did you know the AI model he insisted they use had a 90% error rate in refusing payouts? And that it was decided it was fine because less than 1% of those would appeal it? And what have you done? The worst you've done is charge someone for a service that you provided. I doubt you took over Rossmann repair group and under your leadership tripled the gate of refusal for life saving care. And you don't strike me the kind of person to send a letter, addressed to a 4 year old girl with cancer, that sorry you won't be paying for nausea medication because she's probably going to die anyway.

It doesn't matter that people talk shit about you. You haven't touched any of those people in a way that actually motivates them to do anything real. And you've got the benefit that your job doesn't actively make the cost of committing murder lower - if the dude who shot that CEO was gonna die from a disease because he didn't lay out on an insurance policy, then who cares if he gets life in prison for the remainder of his 1-2 years?

@larossmann Louis please calm down, you sound like you're having a manic episode. Are you feeling alright? I know writing/recording that guide must've taken a lot out of you, but that post while informative looks like you're not feeling fine
I can't speak for him but I imagine the thought process goes like this: If people are pieces of shit to each other and such discourse is allowed to flow freely, then bad outcomes can, will, and do happen. So when he sees a bunch of people hating on the CEO of UnitedHealthcare he does his part to try to stem the tide of hate. In that sense he feels he's in a similar position. Was the CEO of UnitedHealthcare a bad person? Fuck if I know, I have no idea of his personal achievements within the company, I have no idea if he helped it become the hated monolith that it is. Similarly, is Louis a bad person? I doubt it because I've watched his videos and read his posts, but if I was in an equal space of ignorance as I am to the UHC guy and all my news came from Reddit then it'd be possible to start to hate him in a similar way.

I think the realistic question at that point would such hate be worth acting on. For someone like Louis? Probably not, but people get killed over less all the time.

So, in that respect, busting out a decent ~4k word post to try to reach the 1% of people he can sway is a noble act worthy of the time.

Was the CEO of UnitedHealthcare a bad person?
Under his leadership, UnitedHealthcare adopted DEI initiatives, tripled their rate if refusal, used an AI that has a false refusal rate of 90% but decided to keep it because it helped the bottom line. Despite that, the one thing they were really good at paying out for was sexual reassignment surgery for children - as he was an advocate for it.

Yes, he was a bad person who damaged the quality of life of others for the profit of himself and his company. And then he still had the nerve to defraud his faggot investors after he tot a $10M salary. But the case was only going to pay out $5M in damages lol

but people get killed over less all the time.
The most he has to deal with is a schizo android dev who is so off the range nutty, that people only prop the guy up for political reasons.
He has no real pull or influence. Nobody is going to shoot him in the street on the orders of Schizo Daniel.
This CEO shooting is only resonating because of the guy it was done to. Not just any CEO. A known Crook who has been doing all he can to fuck over people in need.
Rossmann needs to sit the fuck down and have a candy bar. He is not at all near the level of infamy needed to get the ghost of NYC to silence you.

@larossmann

I don't think you realize how many people you have actually influenced. Why would you give a shit about what people say on macrumors or waste your time challenging peoples believe on r/tesla? You are looking at places whos sole reason of existence is to suck the dick of the companies and hate you, because you go against their believes. They can not stand you because you point out flaws in things they are deeply invested in.

You will not get assassinated. The perceived slights you have committed pale in comparison to what that CEO did. His actions led to many people getting fucked beyond believe, having their lives ruined. He would not have been persecuted, charged and trialed, even though in a just world he would have been. We saw that with the bankers that fucked the economy in 08. Justice will only rarely get served to those people. That's why you have people that decide that enough is enough and that take matters into their own hands.

We have threads here that are thousands of pages long and years old on horrible people that have done horrible things. It never even crossed my mind that because of that someone from here would go out and kill them.

And again, you don't realize the influence you have. In Europe things are changing right now. There is no doubt in my mind that your videos have had a significant impact in getting people to realize how much they get fucked. I use grayjay, have a fairphone and run CalyxOS because of YOU. And I'm telling everyone that is willing to listen about it. A coworker bought a Fairphone because I told him about the things YOU have been fighting for. You have undoubtedly had set backs when it comes to lobbying, but you have done whatever you could. Don't be a retard and think that because macrumors has 26 pages of apple fanatics seething at you that your contributions have been in vain. You have inspired and changed more minds than you realize.

Louis I say this in the nicest way possible.

Get off the internet as much as humanly possible, I know that you have to stay connected for reasons of work, but reading people shit talking you will make you fray at the edges no matter how strong you think you are, actively pursuing the act of reading people shit talking you to correct the record is going to drive you absolutely cuckoo for caca. You would do well to limit internet time to strictly professional matters from here onwards.

Remember, stay healthy, stay wealthy, and more importantly stay the fuck back from the negative feedback loop. There's plenty of examples in this here website of what happens when you feed it.

yeah sorry mate but this is probably going to fall on deaf ears. What do transsexuals even have to do with any of this? This raises more questions than it answers, mostly along the lines of "what the fuck was that?".
I'll take it that this is a big poooost response and he was scraping everything off the plate here. It's been asked/mentioned and thus he responded.
It's fun to know he at least frequents the site more than to check his own thread.

And by the size of this post, he probably checks the site more often than we think, otherwise he wouldn't deign to make such a big explanatory post here of all places instead of his many other outlets.

I think that someone like the John Deere CEO, who genuinely fucks over hard working people with their anti-repair, subscription based, proprietary software monopoly in the agriculture industry (which many people depend on for work, and millions depend on for food) would be a way bigger target.

It's hard to feel bad for people who spend their entire lives fucking people over. They can do it because they feel safe. Never once does it cross their mind how their actions impact people. They exploit because it makes them money with zero consequence.

I'm not saying political violence is good, because that would be illegal for me to say. Rather, I'm making the point JFK did:

The consumer in the United States is the bottom of all concerns. Companies only get worse and the government helps them. Every year the collective majority owns less, has less, and looks forward to less

In such an environment, the murder of businessmen and politicians is going to happen. This is basically a natural law in the same vein as a chemistry experiment. Here we have baking soda and vinegar. We have inequality and hopelessness. Observe.
