Call of Duty did it just fine

Honestly, most of you *really*do underestimate the normies because most of you (allegedly) don't play the slop. Kiwifarms in general seems to have this boomer habit of thinking they understand the industry when they isolate themselves to gaming from 10-20 years ago and don't actually see what people are playing.

Is GTA VI going to have a rough go of it? Almost assuredly for me. But it's not because people won't be spending money or because of some woke backlash. Like everyone else in AAA game and major film industries, it's because of horrid management and spending habits.

Everyone is throwing out more money than can possibly be made back.

I disagree. CoD had to implement a FtP model just to bring people back in, they even copied the battle royale idea to stay relevant and popular. It's available on PC, every console, your Tesla and toaster.
It has very little in comparison with GTA other than 'once yuge franchise goes stagnant and gets its' arse kicked'.

Woke, server issues, launching to a small audience, reluctance of people to move on and stay moved on (unlike FIFA which is updated with the sportsball season, GTA5 isn't old or out of date), normies moving onto a new thing, there are myriad reasons why GTA6 will fail. It will be death by a thousand cuts.

You weren't able to use skins from MW2019 in Cold War, or those skins in Vanguard.

They crossed over in Warzone, but didn't within Warzone 2.

That's the point I'm making.

I dont think so, rock star has automated tools like in 5 to do so, you can report people but it mostly goes nowhere.
 
People asking whether or not GTA VI will be woke, yet here I am wondering why did Rockstar forget about games like this?

Call of Duty is a yearly franchise. On top of DLC and microtransactions.

The gaming industry has changed since GTA V. I'm sure GTA VI will be a financial success, but the well is running dry with these live service titles. I'd hope that the playerbase would be aware enough that GTA Online would not last forever regardless of their purchase history.

Like I said, I know it won't do as well as GTA5, but if GTA6 prints even half the money GTA5 did they'll certainly not be losing money. Maybe the brand could be damaged as you alluded to though, but they release these so rarely now it hardly matters I guess.
