I'm guessing that he was totally exhausted and that was a major factor. He had been on the run for 5/6 days and had probably barely slept at all the entire time. He arrived on a greyhound bus near the McDonalds, so he probably hadn't showered for 5-6 days too. That probably made him stand out even more. Especially if he was still wearing similar jackets and a partial facemask.

If you know some of the people he was following on tweeter then you would know that he probably had quite a doomer mindset far before the Trump assassination.
