Bad webcomics

The 2025 teaser is out with some... choice words?

I'm guessing this is going to be followed by a "you're trans" of some sort,

following this,

with this being made out to be the end of the world and an ableist screed against this strong, independent hivemind.

Either way, fun times are ahead for this shitheap of a comic!

I wonder if something even more insane will manage to top it some day. I'm already eyeing that one "Pokémon as a furry depiction of my transition" comic in which the author decided he must be made to look as ugly as possible and every single page must be a gif (until even he decided that was too stupid to suffer), but given its glacial upload speed it might not provide enough content to be interesting. What the Water Gave Me is still being very slow as well, with the only real happenings being some evolutions that look almost nothing like their canon counterparts, and it seems like a lot of other vaguely-interesting comics are taking their holiday hiatuses early. Hm.

Isn't this shitty webcomics? Glitterdog asside, the drawings are pretty decently done, just very stylized.
Eta: did not realize how old this comment was, my bad.
I'm just gonna post my old comment:

Suffer not the furry to live.
Especially the tranny furry.
Suffer not me to live.
Also are you sure she's a tranny and not just an unattractive woman?

I know Tatsuya Ishida is in the middle of a rant / preplanned arc but doesn't he normally jump to be topical and include current events? Nothing about the AUH shooter.

As ever, the fox is somehow the most relatable character:

Damn, I don’t check on this thread for two months and there’s 15 pages to get through. Loving and hating the schizo bunny comic, though. All of this is making some of the miscellaneous stuff on Instagram that I thought was personally annoying look tame (ie someone’s spider-sona or OC not giving a shit about a bank robbery and beating up a dude for selling a $13 toothbrush. Or a comic with dindu implications because “stores should just lower their prices instead of locking items behind glass if they’re afraid of shoplifters!”).
Seeing the Chick Tracts suddenly brought back a memory from freshman year, where one of my classmates was showing off some tracts she was given about how trick or treating will send you to hell. She thought they were hilarious, said she’d buy a whole crate of them.
Since it’s been brought up, I also miss Hipster Hitler. I’ll just go ahead and share a couple of my favorites.

I love the implication that Hirohito and possibly Tojo are the only normie Axis leaders.

I always loved the shirts.
Aah simpler times where you could enjoy laughing about nazis without feeling that it's being made by some gay shitlib who wants you dead because you think transexuals are kinda gross and blacks do a lot of crime

Jfc, Sluggy Freelance is still going. I remember I just stopped caring some time around 2008, I think. I can't even imagine what 16 more years of incomprehensible, goofy-ass lore has done to the comic.

And it looks like shit. If I was Pete Wossname, I'd be tempted to slit my throat after a quarter century of doing this.
The Webcomic era is sadly over... and has been for a while now.

Those who keep it going are as pitiful as those who still keep The Simpsons going.

Their creators/cast are literally going to be doing it until they die, and that's the ONLY thing that will stop them. They're too invested in it to stop, but too pigeonholed in a dead format/IP to grow out of it.

One thing that really irk me in this comic is they walk n all 4 like real animal this break the immersion. Either make them fully anthropomorphic or don't

I'll be glad for Rich Burlew when he finally completes Order of the Stick. Judging by his update schedule, I don't think he enjoys making it anymore, but he's too close to the end to quit.

There ought to be a thread about Schizobunny at some point. It's insane on so many levels, tonal whiplash and everything. Look at this.

Percy shrugs it off later, but it's clear that whatever went on between him and Kai aggravated this. Later on, he explains on this page that his self is just "gone."

Between this and the whole "I dunno" wrt the trauma, SNP isn't taking MPD as seriously as she should. Like others said, the subject matter doesn't help the tonal discrepancy in the slightest. Percy obviously didn't get systematically abused by his family, he still comes across as absolutely insane, talking to his imaginary friends through Discord bots and drawing pictures of them. The stylistic choices of his eye color changing and a shadow to indicate who's "fronting" don't work because it's clear that his problems are all in his head.*

*The "Warren," not overwork from school. You could say it's self-imposed but be that as it may.

Edit: I just had a thought: this story is being told backwards.
Percy hasn't been here for a long time. In his place is his big sister Piper, who is determined to make sure no one notices her little brother is gone. Now his life is her responsibility, from school to friends to extracurriculars, but the bustling life of a gifted high schooler isn't easy to maintain. Thankfully Piper isn't alone; she has the Warren—the group of animals who live in her head and share her body. With Harper the bluebird, Quinn the wolf, and Niko the stoat at her side, perhaps Piper can maintain the charade and prove to the world that nothing is wrong.

But what will change when Percy's best friend Kai discovers the truth?
We’re not shown how Percy’s imaginary friends help him. In fact, he loses consciousness when he gets too stressed, even though his imaginary friends are still active and can tell him when they front. We’re just told they do. The writer skipped to Kai finding out in the first chapter because the only way she can really (intentionally) convey information is exposition, which is pointless since that’s the first thing we read.

Even though this is a webcomic, she could just show the Warren shifting in and out to help Percy, and then introduce the drama with Kai. It would actually help the pacing and characterization by showing how he and the Warren function. Even the tone benefits from the slow burn. But no we need exposition NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!
