Well she's directly alluded to this being a "landmark case" "setting precedent""setting a standard of what's allowed on the online space(Don't make fun of me)" so it's pretty clear she wanted life ruination for all of them if via proxy. She's very lucky this isn't getting more attention. If JT gets a six digit war chest she essentially already lost and set herself for years of pain.

Personally I held no hate for her until I read the lawsuit, but even if she's a 90 IQ retard she's declared herself an enemy to freedom of expression and seeks to destroy a fundamental right of hundreds of millions of Americans because she can't take what she dishes out. I don't want to discourage donations because I want to see Alyssa get absolutely blown out in court and buried under the kind of debt that completely ruins her life but it makes me a bit sad to see the insane sums people are throwing at Smash JT.

That money could have been used to do a lot of practical good in the world, instead it's having to be wasted to fight a lolsuit that should fail on its merits automatically because it's abundantly obvious exactly what Alyssa's real agenda is.

I am not sure if he repeated it for this fundraiser, but for the last one he said "excess funds will be donated".

People doing these fundraiser need to be very up-front about where the money goes, because he is technically doing a fundraiser for purpose-bound donations. He clearly stated what they will be used for, he has to show some form of transparency to prove this happens, and have something in place that handles excess funds, because since the donations a purpose bound he just can't go around using them for other personal expenses.
I expect him to clarify at some point that left-over funds will be donated, it is only sensible.

There's some ancient /pol wisdom about people who have such high time preference and inability to imagine reality outside of this moment, that no threat of future consequences will dissuade today's behaviour (since that'll be some other guy's problem) and no current punishment for yesterday's behaviour ever seems fair (since that was some other guy, I dindu nuffin).

But for Alyssa I'd lean toward the BPD & narcissism diagnoses already mentioned, because she's probably at least midwitted enough to understand what she's doing, she's just gotten away with it long enough not to care.

Yep, these kinds of fundraisers can turn to lolcow territory real fast. I'm sure he's had many people warn him about that and as pointed out earlier in this thread, he had very some egg on his face over defending and backing the Amico (which he owned up to and admitted he was wrong in backing, btw).

Question is, what do we suggest he donate his funds to? Maybe something like thefire.org since they're actual pro free speech guys (and not the "ACLU" free speech for me but not for thee?) https://www.thefire.org/ I know these people are like the ACLU of the 50s and 60s, so they will go to bat for anyone that is has a free speech issue no matter where on the political spectrum they are.

It's been stated numerous times but the lack of self awareness is astounding.
