Speak for yourself, the Jesse/Katie exchange on the podcast about Jesse's evangelical girlfriend getting upset about Jesus seeing them sleep in the same bed, and Jesse comforting her by telling her "don't worry babe, I took care of it" still makes me laugh years later.

Part of it is these people just being unable to disagree with each other. There's this extreme environment of toxic positivity in these spaces where if someone is conveying an earnest message that supports the Cause, no one's allowed to disagree no matter how ridiculous it is on its face, because it you disagree you're giving ammunition to the Enemy.

You might know that Jesse Singal is not actively doxing everyone on BlueSky. But is it worth endangering your friendships, and getting yourself put on a blocklist for Nazi sympathizers? Better to just nod and agree.
