I don't know UK laws but couldn't they just make it illegal for anyone to aid, assist, or facillitate a minor obtaining cross sex hormones or puberty blockers, either in person or online?

You’d need an exception for children with precocious puberty who actually need them, but yeah, along with prescribing them (ie. a separate offence and penalty for doctors).

ETA @Nero Fiddled you still have to make accessorial liability a specific offence, and criminalising use makes the child the primary offender, and the adults the accessories (which traditionally means a lower sentence than the primary offender gets). The real harm is adults supplying etc the hormones or blockers to children who shouldn’t have them, not mentally ill kids trying to get them, so the prohibition should be directed to those adults. I’d leave the kids out of any criminal prohibition as they’re the victims ie. them using them isn’t a crime per se, but every adult in the supply chain should be crucified. I would also add in counselling or procuring a child to take them as well, again with an exception for kids with precocious puberty.

There are already laws around assisting criminals and criminality in the UK, so this could easily be an extension of that by criminalising the use of hormones or blockers.

I'd also say that the definition of child abuse should be widened. and any child who is found to be using hormones or blockers should be used as evidence against their insane parents and anyone enabling them.

I wouldn't say that's completely off the cards.

Right now the justification of the ban is that there's simply not enough high quality clinical evidence to justify the use of puberty blockers off-label in the treatment of gender dysphoria. This permanent ban is going to be reviewed following a clinical trial that's due to commence in the coming months, which is par for the course with bans that happened like this under the Medicines Act. The argument advocacy groups are raising is that there's not enough high quality clinical evidence of harm to justify banning it, but as before, that's not really how it works. Mostly there's just very limited clinical evidence of outcomes associated with puberty blockers.

In theory, if the clinical trial comes back with results that show that puberty blockers work great, then the ban will be reversed. However if the trial comes back showing that puberty blockers are incredibly damaging, don't provide any meaningful positive prognosis in patients compared to control and may in fact force children experiencing temporary gender related distress to commit to being transgender, then there's a rationale for introducing primary legislation to specifically criminalise the use of puberty blockers rather than just restricting their sale. Results should be out in 2027.

I think it does listen. Hell world. But you can turn off permissions to your mic and other things in your settings. Lock it down as much as possible.

Needing a recommendation for a video or creator who can explain why trans ideology is harmful to a boomer relative. He’s a kindhearted person who usually goes along with whatever public opinion is, and we live in a liberal hellhole. He’s got several trans coworkers and is generally “live and let live” even though he does think it’s odd that his TIF coworker got the titty chop THEN had a baby, even if he can’t elucidate WHY he finds it weird.

Thing is, I’ve been able to get him mostly deprogrammed on my own just by pointing out the absurdity of trans shit when I see it, but he keeps getting pulled back in by people like his coworkers who prey on his sympathetic nature. Lately he’s been saying things like I’m a mean person for calling them “men in dresses” and “why shouldn’t trans kids be able to play sports too?” I have the answers, I just don’t think I can communicate them clearly anymore because he’s starting to write me off as just biased and angry.

So, are there any videos you’d recommend for that kind of person? Can’t be anyone too bombastic or right wing, and they definitely can’t say things like tranny etc. Perhaps a mostly-sane detransitioner? I feel like if he saw something like a formerly-trans person decry the lifestyle would go a long way. Just trying to get one single person to think more reasonably about this topic is a job and a half.

Honestly just try Buck Angel. A lot of people aren't too fond of Buck here (Buck Angel is a female to male transitioner for 30 years) but also heavily criticizes gender ideology. There are a lot of points on that youtube channel you could use to get through to a person like that.
