Part of the fag voice thing I think is an affection some people put on for whatever reason, but I do wonder at times if it is somehow innate. My normal tone of voice I don’t think is very gay sounding, but I will admit when I’m using my “business” voice or if I’m nervous/shy for whatever reason my voice will go up a few octaves and I sound pretty queeny

The easiest place to hear a gay accent is in Ireland. They already sound kinda faggy but actual Irish fags are next level.

It definitely is real. I wonder if the origin is social or something to do with brain development, I remember looking into it a little while ago but I never found much. I reckon it’s a bit of both though. In my childhood/early adolescence the vast majority of my social interactions was with women and I had some flamboyant speaking patterns and mannerisms. In my later teen years though the majority of my friends were men and after a bit my speech changed and now I sound like a regular straight guy and my body language became a lot more masculine as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the faggcent has an impact on personality though since I still feel like my core personality is a lot more feminine than most other guys.
I think that it is a social thing. What you said about hanging mostly around women seems true enough, because there are a lot of fuckbois I've interacted with who are heterosexual that sound exactly like a gay man. And I've noticed that the gay people who gravitate towards and hang around women are way more likely to have the fagcent. Because the fagcent really is just adopting the mannerism and speech patterns of the kinds of women who are inclined to be around gay men. They are usually rather bitchy and nasally themselves.

I lean more towards the conclusion that the "gay voice" must be more of a learned behavior, simply because we know how much the way a person speaks can be impacted by the context of their upbringing. It's certainly the case for accents and dialects, so I don't see why it wouldn't also be influenced by the internalized thoughts a person might have about their sexual identity.

My theory is that gay men tend to be more attached to their mothers growing up so a lot of the mannerism pass on. Especially the speech patterns and the way of having a more melody like way of speaking and less monotone.

I know when I'm shy or excited I adopt a more feminine way of speaking but out side of that i think sound pretty "Straight". It good because I spend most of my time around pretty conservative people.

It's a form of social signalling. Some fags are "on" all the time, and some aren't, but in either case it's a semi-conscious decision made based on how they want to be perceived within a group. I'd imagine most people in this thread fall into the latter camp, as do I -- when I'm with family or straight male friends, I speak more or less normally, but when I'm with gay friends (or tipsy) I become a lot more expressive.

Well, yeah, actually, if we talk about being a gay man in a homophobic country then it's pretty much hell.
It's more than homophobia when our own "culture" is rotted to the core to where its twice as hard to find any semblabce of love or long term relationships compared to heteros. It's no wonder the world may hate us. But think of it like this. We are Outer Heaven. United against the world as brothers and sisters. True non-annoying faggots should band together and start a private military company to solve loneliness and lovelessness. No matter how many Huey's we have, we will make it.

how have gay men always gotten the shit end of the dick (haha) every single time? they had the longest period of 'oppression', only JUST were legally able to marry, and now troons/poons and white bitches are whining about them being mub privileged or using them as fetish fuel for their deviantart yaoi fantasies.

it's so fucking over fagbros.
Always a struggle. Never over. We're all gonna make it.
ALSO JOHN WATERS HAS THE BEST FAG VOICE.

Out of curiosity, what would "their bullshit" be? Like what do they tell you/do that is unacceptable?

I'm assuming you're talking to law abiding people.

The furries on this site are coom-brained retards constantly posting their fetish shit everywhere and creating tons of ERP chats (some that have been leaked where they were attempting to groom very young members) the worst of the worst (Catler, JethroTullAmore etc) have been banned but they keep coming back under sock accounts to stir the pot and be a nuisance. Furries are obnoxious degenerate faggots and that’s why I hate them
