What is your favorite promo made by WWE of all time? (To make it a little harder, don't mention the Monster Daniel Bryan promo for WM30.)

Mine will always be this one, the intense drama and the music when following all of what happened in those last weeks in the company made for an intense and legendary rivalry. Whoever made this I hope he got a well deserved raise.

Have this rivalry ended in MITB, this could've been the perfect storyline, but for a brief period of time in that horrendous year that was 2011, WWE made a masterpiece of a storyline.
The Undertaker's promo counting down his past Wrestlemania victories, specifically the version hyping his match against Randy Orton.
It did a great job painting him as a dominant monster who ran through his past foes, when most those matches were boring slogs. The moment that really stuck with me was the part where they show Big Boss Man being hung from the cell and they had in a scream to make it all the more chilling. Later versions made sure to cut out that part, which stinks because it helped sell the idea that facing Taker at Wrestlemania was basically a death sentence.

I was lapsed from.2002 to 2016 but for modern stuff I'd go with Cody's final AEW promo (RIP Codyverse)
Cena burning down the roman empire (I'm here because you can't do your job). Amazing that Roman was able to live this down and succeed years later
But all time, nothing beats Bret's heelturn

Granted I stopped regularly watching WWE in 2017, but this is my favorite from before that period:

I am very tired and bored, so I have decided to share Jay vs Mark Briscoe in some random Delware indy show. (HCW Mandatory Suicide, circa 2006.)

Neither had wrestled for almost a year at this point, and both were allegedly drunk and nearby, found the show, and were legit frustrated with eachother so they decided to violently beat the shit out of eachother.

It’s a tad bit intense. Enjoy.

So apparently the Bucks are babyfaces now and are trying to enter a feud with Jack Perry. :story:

Good luck trying to make this duo of assholes look sympathetic in any way.

They are working towards Perry joining Moxs shitty faction and i presume a returning Omega is going to be the one to take the belt off Mox with the Bucks and someone like Garcia that they are trying to build up as his back-up.

The Deathriderz thing is utter shit and they need to have Kenny utterly fucking bury them. The whole angle is that they are trying to "destroy AEW" so have the most elite of the Elite embarrass them and put the whole dogshit angle to bed.

Everyone in the faction is so much better than the nonsense they are doing now. It's literally just WCW-level run-in after run-in for any match or angle they are vaguely involved in. There's only so many times you can watch them stomp down whoever before it means nothing.

They do the spot where Marina attacks/fronts up to a good guy who refuses to attack her so he gets sneak attacked by one of Moxs guys every single fucking week.

Why should anyone watching NJPW even care about this shit? Don't they have their gay youtube show anymore?

Having the Bucks "save the company" after being part of the previous top heel faction that was against the company is also all kinds of stupid. It's like they want the storyline to play out when the Four Horsemen turned face just because the New World Order was now the major threat.

Why are they doing angles for storylines on AEW TV during a NJPW PPV that approximately zero people watched?

That and trying to draw more people to watch them in the first place. Are these clowns even doing something about the continuous decline of people attending their shows?

I like the Bucks but i can acknowledge that their established audience has been religiously watching AEW since day one and they make up a decent part of the 500K~ a week and that's never going to increase.

No new wrestling fans are discovering them because they've been around for so long already. Genuinely generational talents but with a really low ceiling of people who want to see late 2000s/early 2010s US style high flyers.

Tony is a smark. Tony also seems to think that it is still 2015 and that NJPW has a presence in the online smark space. It does... As the place AEW got a bunch of it's stars from. Anyone that the "internet community" jerked off willingly from that era has either retired, gone to WWE for a big payday or done the same but with AEW. Nobody posting on r/SquaredCircle or willingly watching WhatCulture top ten lists is asking for a Master Wato run in AEW. Nobody engaging in tweet chains that tell you the "deeper layers to Finn and why his losing streak is a meta narrative" is honestly going out of his or her (implying) way to watch the NJPW Tag Team League. NJPW is COLD in the West that even DDT has a greater reception in the current smark fandom.

But to Tony, he's almost collected together his personal 2015 - 2018 era "Best of" collection. Soon his fed will finally match what he felt was the true wrestling experience... 10 years late. Trends in the industry have changed since than. Assuming AEW is powering on by 2028, Khan will have finally caught up to 2022 programming and will have slapped a title on 51 year old Sheamus.

she just had bad genetics
Listening to her style of music will do that to you.
Which makes me wonder why Trips isn't doing the same for Rhea's NXT goth/scene counterpart Gigi Dolin.

To me, the promo feels like a culmination of the Attitude Era stars having a cataclysmic endgame. What follows next, an epilogue for the most successful era of wrestling, and a slow road towards Ruthless Aggression.
The recap the following night on RAW was also just *chef's kiss*.

Yeah, Tony is going to run up against a wall in the next few years because NJPW has fuck all people worth signing in the pipeline at the moment.

His options going forward are:

- Lean heavy into women's wrestling and poach a bunch of Stardom/TJPW girls
- Scout the indies and hope he gets to decent talent before WWE does
- Pay obscene amounts of money to WWE talent that have come to the end of their contract
- Set up a training school and produce your own talent

The last option is the best but TK is such a mark for established wrestlers with built in stories so I reckon he'll just throw money at the problem.

The Bucks are one of the biggest certified anti-draws to have ever existed.

You know, very rarely I have seen active wrestlers being given major corporate control in the promotion they were working on and not have ended in disaster, WWF in the mid 90's had the Kliq, ensuring the 5 people involved will get a main event spot and everyone else can go fuck themselves, the final years of WCW from 1999 to its death was in part caused by wrestlers being stingy politicking faggots and people like Nash being the fucking head booker of the promotion, TNA in the early 2010's had Hogan and other older talent who refused to put people over, Triple H from 2002-2005 hogged the spotlight of RAW in that period, quite literally causing ratings of that show to decline heavily.
