Looks like Elon decided that he wanted to take over, convert the company to a profit and tried to force this by creating the corporate entity he wanted to strongarm them into. When that didn't work, he tried to strongarm them into becoming a department of Tesla.
He got a bee in his bonnet that OpenAI was doomed unless they ran it exactly the way he thought they should (which is very autistic thinking) and threw his toys out of the pram when the other founders chose to keep it independent. He was offered equity (in effect paid for with his seed funding and which would now be worth billions) but he didn't want a share of OpenAI, he wanted control of it.


According to OpenAI he fucked himself by trying to force a deal that the rest of OpenAI would never accept and throwing a tantrum by refusing what they offered him instead. He opted out of more money than all but a few hundred (perhaps only dozens of) people on the planet will ever make in their entire lives. Notably, he only got sparked up when OpenAI succeeded, he seemed like he'd let it go up to that point. I think Elol's fired up cos he knows that he did it to himself.



Something else I noticed is that Shivon Zillis is his liaison (CCed repeatedly) and eventually became the woman with whom he cheated on Grimes and popped out a couple more kids.

Everyone I follow has either massively scaled back their posting or just left the site entirely and it's an endless sea of TRVE MAGA PATRIOTS (joined 2024) verified accounts dumping ass all over my timeline.

There was a brief period for like a year after he took over where the site wasn't a gay race communism hugbox and was actually pretty fun. But the amount of spam and straight-up fake accounts along with Elon forcing his retarded capos (esp his pet leafjeet kache) into my timeline has made it unpleasant to use.

I think I'll replace my twitter doomscrolling with something more productive like crossword puzzles or day drinking.

It is annoying that he can be right and wrong at the same time. I am not sure the video I saw that explained it, but it's that he basically says a lot of shit and people focus on when he is right and ignore the times he has been wrong. I was actually hopeful for about 5 minutes twitter would become less of a shithole but then he just started hijacking it for his own cause. I don't even use it anymore because for some reason no matter what I do I get his account or the dozens of elon-associated accounts constantly in my feed.
