Look I'm not saying that you should be allowed to attack anyone approaching your home in good faith. Delivery people or salesmen should be able to do their work under the protection of the law.

But if you have some way to divine that someone is approaching you in bad faith? If you know that such a person is trying to do you harm? A man should be able to defend himself proactively in that case.

In this case Nick was right. How he arrived at the knowledge that this person was trying to do him harm is irrelevant. If they had been a bunch of gang bangers trying to rape him, nobody would clutch their pears and say "how could he shoot them before they even knocked on his door?"

Are they still using the video with edited audio as proof of something? nick was never in danger, nick was never a target, nick was never under threat. Had that video actually contained the "hey nick" audio, then nick would be in the police reports. Because we all know for a fact that the video was in police's hands within the hour. So why did it take MANY MANY MANY hours for us to see it if it proves nick's life was in danger?

Because it didn't happen that way. Not one single bit of evidence points to nick being in any danger, at all, at any point in the night.
