With Hardin and KF he's seeking to be left alone and given some money as punitive damages because KF is ontologically evil and the super murder doxxxxxing website. He cannot grasp why anyone would defend it zealously when paid to do so and he didn't even really budge on that in his groveling filing. He reneged on the accusation Hardin is a fire nation sympathizer or otherwise a poster but he still held firm with "BUT it's pretty odd that a lawyer would host and allow the evil website to crowdfund for a legal warchest HMMMM?!"

He seems to think lawyering is purely mercenary. "Everyone" agrees that KF is the worst thing ever, so this lawyer must be here only because he's getting paid. He must hate his client, and he must want to do everything possible to get an outcome every Good Right-Thinking Person would approve of, not what his client would approve of.

You can see a different version of this in his Taylor Swift lawsuit. He accused managers and lawyers of getting in the way of what's best for him and Taylor. He couldn't comprehend that they were getting in the way because that was in Swift's best interests. He seemed to think they were just chasing billable hours or commissions. To be fair, many lawyers do, but they generally do that in service to their client, not against their client... because they are legally required to do so.

No lawyer representing a client would claim to be billing them hours as a "neutral third party", it's incomprehensible how you'd even logic your way to that idea.

I think Greer understands he has no evidence and hence no case so he's just desperately flailing at Hardin to "do the right thing" and Hardin is just rudely going like this

I think this is the closest to Russ's reasoning I've seen. His perspective of lawyers seems to be based on the stereotype of lawyers shown in media rather than the professional definition.

It could also be he is a pure sociopath and the thought that an opposing party has rights or a valid argument for their perspective is completely alien to him. He sees it as a "Us vs. Them™️" fight, and anyone else siding with "Them" is evil.

He probably thinks Hardin is literally like Saul Goodman.

Is there any chance that Greer gets convicted of witness tampering or whatever but the judge does not let it impact the case?
No, he's not the freaky face mob threatening witnesses. In fact I think the Judge is probably baffled by the fact that he offered these guys as witnesses and then immediately turns around and demands they refuse to cooperate and lawyer up.

I don't know if it's really sociopathy or more like Chris Chan's autism where he genuinely can't understand other people have wants and desires that might conflict with his own. Actually the way Greer talks about other lawyers and his "enemies" is pretty close to Chris' worldview of Jerkops getting in the way of his love quest and happiness. Though I guess that is sociopathy, just what happens when the person with it is completely retarded.

That might be what Greer is missing from a settlement offer, he never said he would move Null up two points on his internal ranking system.

Dude same. When I first read that I had to stop and re read it several times to make sure i understood what Russ was saying. Even now I have trouble understanding why Russ thinks the OPPOSING COUNSEL is supposed to help him get what he wants and be a neutral party. Then he went on to tell the opposing council he’s trying to delay the process further by denying him the right to depose his witnesses. Personally I think part of the reason he’s freaking out is he hasn’t had time to coach them on what to say to Hardin during the deposition so they’re going to admit they have no knowledge of copyright infringement.
It's been said before ITT, but his view of what Hardin's role is supposed to be really does reveal that, despite claiming a paralegal degree, he views the legal system as the public school system he's supposed to run and tattle to in order to force the other kid to be nice to him. It slots in too easily:
-Hardin is the classroom teacher
-Mormon Judge is the principal.

That two hours is almost an explicit admission that he's doing it on purpose. His email didn't take 2 hours to write, and since he was sending emails in the weeks before the deadline, he clearly had time to send that one too. Who is sitting up at 2 AM suddenly remembering to send a weeks-overdue email, unless he's intentionally waiting to be late?
i think the more interesting part is that mr. hardin has repeatedly requested of greer that he cite case law when filing his motions (so that mr. hardin has something specific to which he can respond), and greer has repeatedly failed to do so, yet he managed to cite case law immediately to defend submitting his disclosures two hours late:

My theory, for what it's worth, is that he anticipated they would tell the court how much that forum hurt his feelings for the other torts that were dismissed. From all of his actions, Greer has never formally acknowledged they were dismissed, in kind of the same way Taiwan maintains claims over mainland China. So he's named them as witnesses for a purpose no longer needed for reasons which I'm not sure make sense even to him, just that he always intended to.
i wonder if they'll testify at all, given that greer specifically told the court(s) back in may that his (REAL) witnesses "are eager to testify to the devastation Kiwi Farms has caused to Greer's intellectual property and works":

Unless I missed it, Greer did not specifically state in the email that he does not know the addresses of the two people

Not trying to backseat moderate or anything gay, but I suspect this is the sort of thing Null is talking about when he says that we shouldn't be indirectly helping Greer out with these filings.
agreed; no helping greer, directly or indirectly. but i'll always be happy to help mr. hardin and null. :tomgirl:

Have it be in commentary format. Greer's original text on the left page, and a translation from Retard to English on the right, with an explanation of what actually happened, supported with evidence from Greer's thread.
i dunno, i think there's something to be said for footnotes. they've been the best part of this case!

He was just hitting Reply All like a drone, he didn't even consider the fact that Hardin would see.
i think that he hit 'reply all' because he wanted mr. hardin to see his responses. greer honestly believes that he has not only the right, but the obligation to "protect" his family from mr. hardin's "predatory behavior". after all:

Greer has promised to file a Motion to Quash. Even if it contains no Hitler, it will be epic.
even better ... there will be two of them, one for each witness. i can't wait to read about his family's plights!

also, this just irritated me for some reason:

of course, greer considers himself first and foremost. the only "risk" posed by the publication of the phone numbers belonging to his father and brother is of greer being disowned for dragging them into this shit.

That matches up real well with him now claiming that Nathan doesn't want to be a witness anymore...

I bet the reason Russ is freaking out so much about the deposition and wanting a list of Hardin's questions is that he isn't imaging Hardin as a lawyer defending his client against contributory copyright infringement claims, he's imagining him as a member of the farms, intent on asking Russ' family for every embarrassing detail of his life. "Did Russell ever have a date with a girl who wasn't guilted into saying yes? What were the names on his kill list? How many times were you approached by a girl's family members, asking them for help in getting Russ to leave her alone? Did you ever walk in on Russ masturbating? What were his porn habits?" He thinks about his family being deposed, and imagines his every shame being broadcast to the world.

That supposed "harassment" email still looks suspicious, even more than just the milquetoast language.

Kiwi Farms, the well-oiled doxing machine of the hateful Internet, couldn't come up with something bigger to torment Greer with? Only the exact information Russ already sent, which he already knows? Even a normie like Hardin found more personal information than this supposed obsessive stalker child.

Like you said, it's Russ making it all about Russ. This "stalker" didn't go to his brother or father with a hateful message, no, he conveniently goes to Russ himself. If someone contacted his family Russ surely would have included that. And Russ can't claim his family was harassed, because they're about to be deposed under oath and the truth would come out.

Can they even avoid the subpoenas beyond outright refusing to speak or submitting an affidavit along the lines of "I have nothing of substance to say with regards to this case"?
If they're stricken as witnesses for Russhole's failure to comply with even the most basic FRCP 26 requirements, there will be no need for a deposition.

If Greer had sent this to Scott and Nathan instead of to himself, he wouldn't have access to it and couldn't file it. That's why he sent it to himself.

I think they ran out of Hitler pics after all these years.

Someone brought up America’s Got Talent - is that the other time he’s gotten “this far” and is that why he thinks Hardin is supposed to be neutral? He’s treating him like the AGT-paid arbitration firm?
I think its because he fundamentally doesn't understand what opposing lawyers actually *do*. He for some reason, probably related to the whole "he's a speshul chile, be sweet to him" thing that he grew up with being a tard in Mormon culture waaaaayyy too much. He always thinks exceptions need to made for him, and he gets to decide what the exception is. When it comes to opposing lawyers, they are supposed to help HIM rather than the client that is paying them. HE is obviously right by filing this lawsuit and he will win in some sort of way. Opposing counsel is supposed to get him to that point because of course. It's all about Russ and his plights. WORSHIP THE PLIGHTS! PUNISH THE NONBELIEVERS!
