My memory is long enough to remember when people said to give Johnson a chance because he promised to not bring any ukraine bills up. He turned out to pass more legislation for the democrats than Nancy Pelosi. Pattern recognition isn't something you ignore and i have seen this play before.

Every talking point coming out of the DNC is focus grouped slop. A month ago the NPC update was "look how pathetic Musk is always hanging around Trump, he won't leave Trump alone he's so desperate to bask in Trump's greatness". That was a wet fart, so now the new update is the exact opposite: "OMG Trump is so weak Musk is the real power Trump is just basking in his greatness!!"

Obviously at the core they are scared shitless at how effective the Trump Musk alliance is at exposing them and pushing their shit in. So they are flailing around trying to find any way to drive a wedge between them. But they are so desperate and inept that it is transparent. Every few days we get some made up leak from NBC about how one (which one depends on the update version) is secretly sick of the other and tired of hanging around with him. Then a few days later they show up at some public event together having a blast and the NPCs go back down for maintenance.

AFAIK, the inauguration is just a fancy ceremony—one that Trump is largely funding himself because he didn't want Washington to be involved in his transition team. I also think it's like historic societies and other orgs that help organize it.
