Thanks for the info. If it wasn't clear in how I wrote that section, I think his self diagnosed DID is probably bullshit and I was merely summarizing and organizing what Michael told ChrisTheNarc and CopeAndSeetheYT in his call regarding his "DID" into a chart. The only consistent thing is the identity "John" has been mentioned in two other places, once in his neocities blog possibly (I think John in the neocities might be the same identity Michael claims to have), and @Fosteryou in the preamble of the Null debate asks if he's taking to John specifically. I also think "John" might be in Michael's Echo II visual novel.Medfagging time, but Michael 100% does not have DID for a few reasons. I'm aware that nobody here is buying the fake DID act, but I've got autism to spare, and this might help out with the OP.
So in other words, Micheal is an attention whore who lies for clout, gotcha. He's still mentally ill, tho.Medfagging time, but Michael 100% does not have DID for a few reasons. I'm aware that nobody here is buying the fake DID act, but I've got autism to spare, and this might help out with the OP.
I could go on, but a lot of it is boring medical terminology and I don't want to bore anyone or derail this thread. Hope this helps.
- People who actually have this condition rarely, if ever, become aware of it without medical intervention. You aren't supposed to know you have it, your brain is attempting to block out memories and delegate them to specific "parts" (or personalities, if you will) as a means of coping with prolonged, extreme trauma. Your brain is actively trying to prevent other "parts" from becoming aware of each other so that you can keep functioning in day to day life.
- Having distinct "personalities" with fully fleshed out names, identities, etc. is usually a tell tale sign of faking. Contrary to popular belief, DID is not actually "multiple personalities" but rather "less than one". It's hard to explain. Actively keeping track of and listing your own "personalities" is harmful to people with actual DID and is not recommended by doctors.
- "Merging" is a legitimate thing, but this is done through therapy and is a sign of recovering from the trauma that caused someone to have this disorder. "Dying out" isn't something I've heard of, but traumatic experiences can cause certain "parts" to split up even more to cope with this event.
We did this already in the Dansburst thread but its funny that someone in a different thread had the same inclination
