Resetera mods have a clear agenda as they want to maintain an echo chamber.
I blame moot for his exit tardout when he was mad about getting considered an utter cuck. He stacked the mod team with retards and troons on the way out and the site never recovered. I can't really blame him even for selling to gookmoot, who has no real interaction with the site. Who else would be dumb enough to pay that much for 4chan and then just let it rot?

But it used to be that while 4chan modding was seriously arbitrary and autistic as fuck (you would get banned for pissing off that one particular janny who couldn't cope with a specific opinion or franchise or whatever), but it wasn't to push some broader agenda. It was just autistic obsessions of various fat NEET fucks or even just for the lulz of abusing power.

The current batch are those SJW retard types who think somehow running 4chan (especially in current year) is some kind of epic battle of good versus evil. Pure moralfaggotry. Like if Chanology hadn't been chased off but instead allowed to take over the mod team. But even gayer.

Moot failed to gatekeep enough once the site got too big to simply turn away the kind of people had undesirable traits but wanted to be mods and jannies. That's how 4chan ended up with a moderation team made up of the same kind of people who moderate multiple large subreddits. Whether moot stacked the moderation team with these people on purpose or by complacency ultimately doesn't matter since he's gone anyway and the result is the same. Just as reddit is largely lorded over by trannid leftoids living on disability who sit at their gayming computers 24/7 and love infiltrating online communities to shape narratives, so too now is 4chan.

There's already an alternative to 4chan. It's called soyjak party.
Every sharty alternative to 4chan boards is somehow worse than their 4chan counterpart; /pol/, /qa/, and /int/ are three massive examples. Everyone on the sharty seems to be experiencing some form of irony poisoning, which makes any form of discussion beyond raiding or shitposting completely impossible. Imagine a normal thread on 4chan, but everyone is a schizo who can't stop themselves from throwing a fit and accusing everyone in the thread of being one of their imaginary boogeymen.

>check /x/ for first time in months
>the BEN guy is STILL at it

There's not really much context to explain, it's just some guy trying to force a memephrase who's been at it since the beginning of the year. It's always "quick rundown on Blue Eisenhower November?"
"so what's the verdict on Blue Eisenhower November?"
"Why is nobody talking about Blue Eisenhower November???"
"Blue Eisenhower November is the most important thing we've ever uncovered"

Explanations for what BEN is are different every time and always shallow. It's the title of some lost album, it's some sort of activation phrase, it was the name of some spooky glowie esoteric schizo group, blah blah blah...

It's like the baskin roberts trust fund band of /x/. A poor man's golf rumors.

The fact is the board was already going to shit prior to 6th gen being "retro", all it's done is allow an additional flood of retards to low-effort-post about shit they know fuck all about outside of what some worthless eceleb says. That, and their endless, reddity forced memes.
They must be turning that board into a surrogate old /v/, because sometimes the level of bants on there reads like shit you'd see from the mid '00s 4chan with a mix of /v/ (minus the fun and x2 the dictatorship). Seeing how the tranny jannies behave on IRC, they're still stuck in that old /b/ mindset, where everything's a joke and they don't take anything seriously, so it's no a surprise they're trying to apply that same attitude to other boards like the olden days while curating a hugbox for themselves to rule over.

Granted the board DOES stick to the topic of vidya 9 times out of 10, but the trade-off's mostly autistic bickering, flamewars, ironic bait and blogging over the same shit endlessly -- basically /v/-lite albeit slower and less porn.

Also might as well rename it to "/vr/ - Retro Games Hardware & History", because posters there geek out more about the tech and history related stuff than actually wanting to talk about vidya. Out of curiocity I did a basic lookthrough yesterday and /vr/ consists of mostly miscellaneous topics and 5th gen threads.
  • Gens 1 to 3 - 6 threads
  • 4th gen - 12 threads
  • 5th gen - 49 threads
  • 6th gen - 26 threads
  • Misc. - 57 threads

Someone really needs to give an 8chan like alternative another go. The biggest hurdle would be handling CP spam and other bad actors, but if they can do that and keep their own ego/retardation in check and capture even a fraction of the thunder 8chan prime had, it would put cuckchan out of business. You have no idea how many anons there are out there that crave something like this, but can't stand the modern state of 4chan or the webring.
I've been rolling around some (probably terrible) ideas for this, one of which is to use external hosts for images. So if people start posting illegal shit, it's not on us, it's on Imgur or Twitter or wherever we're hotlinking the images from. And if those sites take their shit down properly, the images on our side will break, even if the mods don't get t5o the thread itself. Probably a bad idea but I might try putting together a site like that just to see how it goes.

The best way so far to deal with 'p spam is to use the Sharty's media approval system.

also adding the laziness of 4cuck janny's.
Case in point:

Why are trannies polluting the robot board with /r9k/-tier garbage, and why are people thirsting for them? I stick around on /m/ because it still has gemmy threads even after the 15-minute verification (mainly the Advance of Zeta general, Gundam tech spec discussions, and occasional imagedumps), but it won't be gemmy for much longer with this negligence. I don't even think /m/ has a janny (at least one that's useful) now that Duel pays Hiroyuki on livestreams to fire any jannies that ban him. I'll bet this is Jenny/AkumatsuT (tranny scanlator, /tttt/ namefag, and literal 'cordtroon who has an unironic BBC fetish, does Galaxy Express 999-themed shotacon mommy ERPs, and constantly switches sides of pro/anti discourse for attention) since he was mentioned in another thread today.

it's the only culture imageboards can speak of nowadays.
Is it? I cannot for the life of me remember the last time I saw someone mention a GET, on any board. For example, the 100M /g/ get was forgotten within a day of it happening, and the preceding 9s was forgotten within minutes. I only hear about them now whenever it's some shartytard celebrating getting it with a wojak on some slow board. Pretty easy to steal when nobody cares about them anymore.

GET culture seems to be a thing of the past, even checking digits seems to be fading away. I genuinely hear about threads on here reaching page milestones more than I do about GETs.
