On top of being very uninformative and unfunny, most of the examples shown aren't even a good demonstration of the uncanny valley. It's likely Redditors reposting stuff found on other subs like r/creepy and r/cursedimages to grind karma.

Reminds me of how in the waning days of the Creepypasta genre, back before it had its small reinvigoration over the last few years, all the narration channels that were running out of content switched to narrating shitty r/nosleep stories instead.

I'll share a story from a friend. He did concert security and ended up doing security for Ian Watkins. Yeah.
There's no stories of him having Diddy parties, unfortunately, but here's the details.
Ian has some sort of personality disorder. During one on one conversations, you could tell Ian wasn't exactly there, almost as if he was bored or tired perpetually, it had to be something HE was interested about. He generally gave off the vibe of utter disdain for people, but was ALWAYS kind to fans. My buddy used to say he chalked it up to wanting to maintain a strictly business based relationship, but now he's wondering how much of that is him being a fucking creep.

Is this a new genre? I've seen a few videos explicitly about Japanese music where it's about "this high energy song is actually really fucked up and you're retarded for enjoying it. "

Not really. It's been known for a while that a lot of Vocaloid songs have pretty dark themes hidden inside them. Thankfully since us proud Americans don't know Japanese, all the song needs is just an uplifting or high energy sound design/atmosphere and people will be none the wiser until they look at the translated lyrics or look at the deeper implications of what's shown in the video.

But in terms of videos... yeah, they're definitely gaining lots of traction recently.

Nah, I know about vocaloid, I'm a dedicated Kaito simp.

You know it's kinda funny how the more things change the more they stay the same, I remember in the 2010s Hey Ya by OutKast got a sort of revival because of shitty YouTubers going "songs that are actually really sad" and now it's "Japanese songs that are actually fucked up. "

He was great for saying it was fucking stupid the iced earth founder got any sort of punishment for dating to be on the grass on the Capitol on Jan 6th.
Hedley has one amazing song called "color outside the lines", pretty shitty for Jason to sexually assault those 2 girls. But there's been worse cases with more shit.

Great, I managed to forget Rolf Harris ever existed only to be reminded of him by the thumbnail. Also I guess now he is spoopy youtube list fodder he may finally get Jimmy Savile level exposure among non Bonglanders/Bogans

Frankly I just remember him as the guy in the animal hospital show I watched when I was a literal 5 year old and then a bunch of years later being vaguely aware he was doing some painting shit.

Also given this image I just found of a younger version of him I am realising to my absolute and unironic horror he looks fucking identical to a bunch of currentyear podcast manlets to the point where its just fucking freaky
