Phil is likely gay but subconsciously blocked all the gay urges his entire life and never actually explored the possibility that he's gay. If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, the word "gay" was used interchangeably with saying something sucks and was a common insult. A kid like phil who was scared and bullied growing up would have seen being gay as a very bad thing and would not want to be seen as gay so he just never considered he might be gay.

Phil has a very feminine personality though and would probably be happier if he just quit repressing the gay tendencies. If you think of the "hunter/gatherer" dynamic males and females have, phil definitely leans more on the gatherer side. He loves stuff like grocery shopping and errands and also loves stuff like decorating. For example I never knew a single straight guy living alone who would put up a christmas tree or even any kind of holiday decorations but Phil always did even before living with panda. Also the passive aggressive texts he would send to people like Howard saying stuff like "if you don't do X then we were never friends" is pure woman/gay man behavior.

Phil is probably gay and would be less angry all the time if he just let himself explore it but like everything else in his life he's just too lazy, he'd rather sit inside ordering doordash and playing mobile games drunk off his ass all the time to cope with how unhappy he is instead of doing anything about it.

It's worth noting that Phil has lashed out about almost every single tidbit that has ever been said about him here and from YouTube detractors. Except this one. AFAIK he has never said a single word about the suggestion that he is gay. It is a bit suspect that he will bring up tiny shit that has been said once by some random person, but has never even gotten close to talking about why he is obsessed with men's bodies, butts, balls, etc.

If your "business" is running a gaming channel, you can totally write off anything gaming related. Even if you never actually used it on the stream, you could argue that you were planning to and that is enough. He wrote off all of his WWEC spending, and as long as he says that he was building up the account with the intent of playing it on stream, it is deductible.

You can justify anything, however, there are things you can't do. Overstating % of mortgage would be one, if you have X meals deducted but in reality you're combining family meals would be another, and of course, overstating expenses. If you are running a business at a 1% gross profit margin, that's going to raise red flags.

Dude doesn't know that's what happens to bananas when you refrigerate them. (oxidation) Alternatively they were spoiled and he left them in there for a lot longer than stated. Now that I'm thinking about it the time period Phil was drunk-dialing and pining over him fumbling an LDR with Rambo was also the time period when he had a 20 year-old self-described "nympho" living with him, and Phil instead chose to lock himself in his "office" literally 24/7. Leanna had to beg him for 1 day a week where sex would maybe be on the table, that Phil referred to as "underwear time", that Phil quickly turned in to a reenactment of his weekly trips to the mall with his mother. . .

In my thinking lately I get more Norman Bates vibes off of Phil than anything. Like the dude was basically dating his mom for years, and then when someone expected him to have an adult relationship with them Phil tried to recreate dating his mother. His mother also cleaned and did his laundry for him until he moved to Washington, and he constantly calls his current wife "mom" and when she was moving in he was excited to have her cook and clean and do laundry for him.

When it comes to Phil's mentality, you can't make the mistake of thinking like an adult. You have to place your mindset into a spoiled 9 or 10 year old from the 90's.

Girls are gross because they have cooties. Being married means you have a wife that cooks and cleans around the house while the husband works. And because he was largely raised by the TV, all main characters (which Phil most definitely believes he is) have a loyal best friend. In Phil's stunted mind, that last one is what he's really missing/has been chasing. Sometimes he'll insist he doesn't have time for friends, or that Khet is his best friend or whatever, but I think it explains why he took the loss of John Rambo so hard and why he was desperate to chase Sidescrollers, then KC crew, then whoever he could possibly interview.

It was interesting to watch his viewers tell him to get a 400 dollar microphone. Initially he balked and said it was way too expensive, but with no other input after that slowly started talking himself into buying it.

He talked himself into a ridiculous spot by making fun of Rich's microphone boom, now he is 100% convinced it shouldn't be in the view of a camera at all, and that maybe if he gets a more expensive microphone he won't have the boom visible. It's just an unfathomably dumb place to be because literally no one cares if you can see the microphone boom in the frame of a streamer and he's probably going to waste a bunch more money for literally no reason other than to have a better setup than Rich does. It's not like his e-daddies have invisible booms. He's just so dumb with his rants.

The thing is an entertaining streamer could film from their cell phone and still make good content and a terrible streamer could film in a million dollar hollywood studio and still make crap content. Phil is constantly mistaking backgrounds, equipment, lighting, etc for quality streams instead of the personality and creativity of the streamer. You can't just buy a bunch of fancy equipment and become a good streamer, he can spend all the money he wants and he'll still be the same boring, uncreative idiot.
