WhatifAltHist / Rudyard Lynch - History youtuber, galaxy brained, no credentials and no sex

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I've barely watched any of his videos, and mostly just recently started checking out his Twitter account in recent months due to the retarded stuff he'd say on a nearly daily basis there, but these 2 new videos are truly something else. He's either suffering from mental illness (likely schizophrenia as @VeteranOfTheRetardWars pointed out), delusions brought on by chemical substances, or both.

In addition to watching the clips posted in this thread, I skipped around the videos, and they sounded like the scene in the Austin Powers movie where Dr. Evil recounts his childhood, except even more insane, and instead of a minute it goes on for SIX HOURS.

It's quite possible he was abused in some way as a child, but he makes some very wild claims in these videos, and I have to wonder what his family is going to do if/when they find out about them.

I think he's on prescription stimulants (he's lost a lot of weight fast) and has also been using some kind of psychedelic for "shamanistic purposes". I'm about an hour and a half in the video and it's all seems like a stimulant mania episode so far. Here soon we'll see two days of zero activity as he sleeps it off.
This is two long videos clearly filmed and presumably edited across multiple days. This wasn't a spur of the moment thing, I think. Unless manic episodes can be a week plus long (I'm no phycologist, I wouldn't know).

It's not like you wake up thinking you're Jesus, these things start gradually and exaggerated memories of things like abuse, especially with what he describes sounding like SRA, are absolutely warning signs.

What is SRA
Satanic Ritual Abuse. It’s a conspiracy theorist term, and even though he said his mom was a witch the similarities are similar.
Being sexually abused by cults is a common schizophrenic backstory, not because it happened but because it’s a weirdly prevalent delusion.

It's possible he took a few times he got struck or even simply reprimanded as a child and has blown that up into years-long SRA-style abuse. Has he ever spoken before about having experienced any abuse as a kid? Even if so, I've heard about people rather rapidly developing schizophrenia and concocting entire narratives about their families and other people that had no basis in reality whatsoever. The fact that he's claiming to hear voices and shit is extremely telling.

Not that I know of. He occasionally would mention having PTSD and going through therapy for it in his videos, but whenever he mentioned his mother he never mentioned anything abusive until today, it's completely out of nowhere.
Well he wasn't high off his ass either. If you've watched Bossman, you know what high looks like. He was on something making this. He has all the body movements, the face rubbing, fast talking, paranoia, all that shit. It could be misidentified as schizophrenia.

Yeah he seems legitimately mentally ill in some odd ways. He's becoming well-known among certain circles but definitely not for the reasons he wants to be.
Could he be descending into full blown schizophrenia or BPD?
Schizophrenia typically develops in males around their late teens and early 20’s so he’s the right age. If he was/is also taking drugs that probably exacerbates it.

Unless some other evidence comes out, my suspicion is this. Anecdotally, I've been around a disproportionate number of schizos and it really fucks with them. For example, one of them I knew claimed her and her daughter were being regularly raped by her ex-boyfriend. It got so bad she took all the doors off inside her house, started sleeping in an armchair next to the door, and video-taped everything. The boyfriend, on the other hand, hadn't been in contact for over a year.

People laugh about it, because fair it does produce some top funnies, but it can be pretty nasty too.

Does anyone else in this thread find schizophrenia as fascinating as I do? It's really crazy how similarly it presents in each individual yet is completely unique to them at the same time. You couldn't write this stuff!
In my previous career, the schizophrenic patients were always my favourite. I have so much empathy for people whose brains turn on them like that, and they are fascinating both while properly medicated and not. I knew one who (when medicated) used to tell me what the voices were telling him I was "actually" saying during our conversations, but (when his meds were working) he knew I wasn't actually having a double conversation with him. When they weren't working (or he stopped taking them) he thought I was giving him secret information to keep him safe from the government agents who were after him.

"I had an easy way to communicate with the Spirit World when my mom was raping me"
"From what I've studied, a lot of the most advanced mystics were raped as children"

I wonder how Sigmund Freud would've reacted to Rudy becoming all spiritual after his mom raped him.

I actually used to have a neighbor with schizophrenia. I think he was on meds for it, or the symptoms were relatively mild, because he seemed pretty functional and was self-aware about it. He would occasionally talk to and even yell at voices he'd hear while he was in his apartment. One night he yelled at them a little longer than usual. When I saw him the next day, we made some small talk, and when I asked him if everything was okay the night before, he said "yeah, just trying to get rid of some... unwanted visitors..."

By the way, hasn't Rudyard claimed his mother is schizophrenic numerous times? That would certainly set a precedent if he's not just making that up.

I see it the same way I see dementia. Fascinating, but at the same time extremely horrifying, and depressing.

It's one of those things that while you'd never want to experience yourself, or wish it upon your worst enemy, it's an incredible thing to witness because of just how powerful, and nightmarish it is, and the fact that that it can happen to anyone.
