Dec 26 (Reuters) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Thursday its analysis of samples from the first severe case of bird flu in the country last week showed mutations not seen in samples from an infected backyard flock on the patient's property.

The CDC said the patient's sample showed mutations in the hemagglutinin (HA) gene, the part of the virus that plays a key role in it attaching to host cells.

The health body said the risk to the general public from the outbreak has not changed and remains low.

Last week, the United States reported its first severe case of the virus, in a Louisiana resident above the age of 65, who was suffering from severe respiratory illness.

The patient was infected with the D1.1 genotype of the virus that was recently detected in wild birds and poultry in the United States, and not the B3.13 genotype detected in dairy cows, human cases and some poultry in multiple states.

The mutations seen in the patient are rare but have been reported in some cases in other countries and most often during severe infections. One of the mutations was also seen in another severe case from British Columbia, Canada.

No transmission from the patient in Louisiana to other persons has been identified, said the CDC.

OK - text me when this virus has cross-pollinated itself with Ebola, become air-borne (spread by loud squelchy farting), infected the whole planet, and has killed 50% of the world's population ( mostly youngsters..old bastards over 80 don't really count)...

It needs to be like that Legend film, where Will Smith survives - I am always upset when the alsatian dog (Sam) gets infected and he has to kill her....all the dead and infected humans: well I don't give a shit)....

at that point I shall be prepared to be concerned..possibly...

I am also prepared to re-train as a Mass Grave Digger on the JCB...

these are my conditions....otherwise fuck off....

If they really want to try this shit again, it's going to be more than just a CEO getting got.
People might not be able to hit a governor that's responsible for the bullshit, but the local governments and health departments should all be shaking in their boots if they do attempt it. It would have put a stop to all the COVID bullshit very quickly if people started dropping those tyrants.

What a happy coincidence! Orange Man comes in and here comes the plague! Damn journos.

Not. Playing. Along. This. Time.

I will never unsee the fact that during the lockdowns, riots were allowed to happen, the border remained open and there are plans to completely enslave everybody with vaccine passports. And then there's the fact that plenty of people who were not vaxcattle had to bear witness to their own very zombie scenario of their loved ones choosing to be zombies and even trying to force them into becoming cattle themselves right on top of people losing their homes because they can't make a living anymore.

You have spooked the cattle. And now they're seeing red. God bless the Truckers who scared the institutions so much they had to start a war.

If they are trying to start another Covid it won’t work, just like all the other terrible and scary diseases like uh… monkeypox… yeah they dropped that one real quick after it was found out how it spreads.
They needed to wait at least a decade or two when most people with the memories of lemmings didn't remember all of the bad shit that came with the pandemic. No money coming in, isolationism, the fights over masking, whatever.

A pandemic wouldn't have worked a couple of years after 9/11, because people get fatigued over continual sorrow or frankly, the trauma that comes from what happened during the pandemic, whether it be financial, emotional or whatever. It's too fresh, people are still bitter, and it would probably be just another case of crying wolf, no matter how many times you scream the word "novel" at people.

Ah I see, so we're pulling out the bird flu thing from over a decade back now, huh?

Skin to skin contact is what spreads monkeypox, not gay sex. It's a type of smallpox that was first observed in monkeys that made the jump decades back to humans via rats. They were likely hoping the gay sex vector would spread it faster to give us corona 2 with how those infamous government funded guides saying you could still have gay sex and "piggy parties"(if you don't know what that is thank god) with monkey pox started popping up around the time monkey pox talk started happening.

On one hand, as a bird parent, the threat of avian flu makes me nervous. On the other hand, this bullshit seems completely manufactured and I am so tired of fear mongering.
