The point is, growth comes from labor. Labor comes from people forced to do it to live their lives. Either AI and automation saves us or nothing will change and things will continue to accelerate. The people rage against their overlords but then they have to get back to work. People get softer and softer because modern convenience makes it harder to force your body to work while you get fatter and fatter because you don't need your body to function to work anymore. Eventually, that system breaks down but I don't see that really happening for at least a decade.
