It's a shame. Some of the jokes are good and I really like the twisted designs. This could be really funny if the creator took it less seriously.

Or she's just a bitch that we're supposed to sympathize for because the author has no idea how people think. Who knows?

I can definitely see it happening. SNP had been posting about "the warren" on her DA since over half a year before the comic came out and has been generally hyped for this story specifically. Knowing how she functions I doubt she'll break down in public or anything, but it will most definitely affect her.

It probably doesn't help that she seems to have broken up with her """queerplatonic""" lover earlier this year. Someone she's been with since May 2021 and broke up with some vague time before November 2024 through the most cringeworthy way of airing out your laundry I've ever seen. Quite the choice to make your ex-lover an animal that preys on your fursona, lol. As well as adding that nice line about "if you hate me, then i'm sorry my love is too much for you". She's definitely unstable at the moment, to say the least.


Anyways, here's some assorted insanity from her various platforms.

And finally, the dumb Nuzlocke comic that is trying and (miserably) failing to teach kids not to be racist.

Spoiler: brief tangent explaining the truly stupid way this world's racism works

For context, Types are supposed to literally be races in this stupid universe and the starter trio + Electric and Ice are supposed to be very obvious stand-ins for evil white people or whatever. I don't think the other races are as well-defined, but if I had to guess different ethnic groups I'd probably guess:

• "Commons" are native americans with their scattered tribes and lack of modern technology
• "Earthens" are black people with the "aggressive racism" they face, their ghettos, and their very religious tendencies (gospel)
• I have no ideas for "Grimm" but it would be really funny if they were supposed to be asians somehow and their untrustworthiness is solely due to the author scrambling to find anti-asian sentiment in the west and only finding outdated Gold Rush/WW2 sentiments to use
• "Fae" are, hilariously, most like conspiratorial views of Jews given their immense power over everyone else, esoteric "magic" and mystery (lines up with conspiritards believing jews are into Kabbalah and all that mysticism), and tendency to live outside of normal society (1%ers or Orthodox enclaves).

This is the most autistic thing I've written today, but please do tell me if there's some other way to interpret this plaque especially since I'm running a fever so I'm probably misinterpreting something anyways. The author is a college-educated westerner so this is absolutely from an American/Western European point of view with all that dumb white guilt stuff. Given that the author has outright stated that she's of Slovakian descent but doesn't actually know the language (and, therefore, is unlikely to actually live in Slovakia), it is probably safe to assume that she's an American.


Anyways, that was quite a lengthy and autistic way to clarify that the first panel in this look-back is literally just a depiction of a half-white girl learning to embrace Wakanda and start hating wypipo. The author literally spends the entire first panel talking about how "media doesn't talk about minorities being justified to hate their oppressors enough" in passive-aggressive wine-mom speak.

Reiterating that SNP is not stable right now. Look at how she writes these things, FYR's wrap-up especially. If she's gonna snap and go full cow, I think it's going to be soon. However, I doubt that will actually happen given that her response to bad situations seems to be more and more self-indulgence rather than any entertaining lashing out.

So if I'm getting this right, that's four comics she's working on for 2025. She'd finished the script for Pipe Up this year, but collaborating on four comics in different phases... to be honest I can see how she'd be unstable. That is way too much for any one person to orchestrate. Whether she implodes online or not is immaterial, this is not sustainable.

Exactly. She has the lack of self reflection that partly characterizes a cow, but she doesn't have the same violent or attention-seeking tendencies to a point from what I understand, normal people don't loudly post about romantic relationships and subsequent break-ups without wanting sympathy that would make her actually worthy of a thread. Maybe if she gets too overwhelmed by the 4 comics she's currently working on while something else also happens to her that might change, but I think (at least for now) that she won't crack publicly enough to warrant a thread.

I hate people like this. Someone I'm close to suffers from a Schizo disorder, not full schizo but enough that it causes problems with out treatment, they've spent years getting treatment to manage it so they can live a mostly normal life. They don't see it as a blessing or anything good about it, and people like this piss them off to no end. People like this make it harder for people that actually want to get better to be taken seriously.

Halo Head is not a bad comic I think. The writing is immature, but the visual storytelling is well done (if a bit on the nose.) The only open question to me is: did the artist already make peace with herself, so now she's making the story? (consistent update schedule, dedication, allusions to old drawings and characters). Or, is the artist is still working through it (lots of filler strips, buying time, shouldn't happen if the script is already written.)

I like the art. Already read it from page one to today.

I had my suspicions that I didn't really wanna know Chloe's trauma in a comic about cartoon cats wanting to get beaten up, considering the first page suggested her trauma involved a bedroom.

That's the thing. Sometimes this thread is Bad Webcomics and sometimes it feels like Webcomics General But Mostly Bad. It's awkward. Since you resurrected the other thread I'll keep unironic appreciation there in future.

To answer your open question, batshaped has said that she has the ending planned out, and the landmarks she wants to hit along the way (her words), but she wants the comic to evolve as she does so she thumbnails about 10 comics or so in advance. This to me suggests that she has probably made peace with herself, but the other possibility is there.

For an example of her planning ahead, here's some concept art of the "boys' night" arc. Batshaped drew this around the time the comic started. Pepper is having a breakdown like in the comic but still has the tall, lanky look he did when first introduced.

Has anyone ever read Foxes in Love? It's one part love poem, one part #relatable slice-of-life comic:

Pretty inoffensive, right? The problem is every strip is just this, and there are hundreds of them. It's always either OTT declaration of love or quirky mundane adventure. Every couple of years I check back on this only to realize it's basically Garfield with foxes.

And the declarations of love really are cloying. Look at this shit:

I've seen those around, always thought they were just boring, plain comics using lazily drawn foxes as people/anything complex are probably too hard for that person to draw, but had no idea of the pooner stuff (never seen the comics that talk about LGBTphabet stuff before somehow).
That last one with the kids is just sinister.
