Problem with mental diagnosis in general is they can't be quantified. They're literally whatever doctor or therapist thinks you might have and outside of schizophrenia and maybe bipolar disorder they're worth little more than the paper they're printed on.
Rolfe has legit 'tims, I mean look at him off-script or read his autobiography and tell me he's not somewhat retarded. With Aspergers it's also a problem of DSM not being able to decide if it's something like autistic psychopathy outside of general autism, or autism but mild and not really and there's a 200 disorder code limit so we really need to condense it somewhere.
Ask how they differentiate between a legit autist and a shut-in who spend his formative years in front of a computer with Internet access (I don't know either).
