Thr This probably has been said hundreds of times before, but I think it bears repeating. A lot of the somewhat postive boomer sentiment towards 'legal' indian migration that seeps into western immigration policy come from them being genuinely stuck in the past of boomer indians and pakistanis who actually attempted to assimilate. Stereotypes like Apu unironically dominate their conception of indians even today. Talk to any older person and they'll say 'they're the only ones who wanna work' and the like. In reality they're ignorant of the inefficiency, the nepotism, and the exploitative conditions in which they are integrated in the first world. That is the mindset carried by Elon Musk supporters who are literally doing it for free as well. I can totally see trump caving to the jeet cabal too.
I'm not really sure why people like h1b-lon are so gung ho about birthrates either, assuming they are good faith concerns and not profit driven complaining. First, indian immigration will not magically create above-replacement level birthrates, the vast majority are undateable. Second, Japan has been able to set industry standards with sub 1.5 birthrates for multiple decades. Excess human capital, migration or citizens, only creates more of a financial burden for countries, This is not even factoring on the many other burdens accompanied by indian immigrants today like safety concerns for when they just cross the street without looking or take from food banks when they don't qualify.
Fuck Elon Musk.
