WAIT, IS THE MAIN BALLDO BUNKER IN FORECLOSURE???
(Or did he just not pay a few bills? Or both?)
I think I may have stumbled onto something...

That's Nick & Kayla's address.

I'll need some translation on this, it's not my wheelhouse. It sure sounds like foreclosure.

When I was recently looking at the West Central Tribune for information on Jim Felt (my prior post), I found this, kept it open on my laptop, and only just looked closely.

Nick better get DSP's bankruptcy lawyer. Then again I'm sure my boy Nick could handle this!

Timeline:

November 27, 2018 - Robert Lord Property Trust created with Nick and Kayla Rekieta as trustees (per foreclosure notice)
November 30, 2018 - Robert Lord Property Trust purchases home for $650,000 (no mortgage recorded, Nick also claimed publicly there was no mortgage)
April 7, 2022 - Paperwork filed with Kandiyohi County Recorder, mortgage for $316,000 taken out on property
December 17, 2024 - Date of notice of foreclosure with $307,749.05 owing

Nick is at risk of losing his home because, for unknown reasons, he took out a mortgage on his house a couple weeks before a major trial (Johnny Depp) which made him hundreds of thousands of dollars by itself, a mortgage with a principal less than half of what he had bought the house for 4 years before, and an amount owing than a third of what the property is estimated to be worth right now.

On closer reading, the "Robert Lord property trust" seems to be public confirmation that Nick Rekieta is a trust fund brat.

Perhaps more importantly, while it has been known ITT for some time that the trust owning the house was created by Nick for that purpose and structurally separate from the Owens family trusts, it was not altogether clear whether or not his parents had been ceded some level of control over this trust for various purposes, whereas now this foreclosure notice leaves no doubt that Nick and Kayla were held out as the only "Trustees" necessary to granting the mortgage.

This could have huge implications for Monty's eventual judgment collection efforts, in part because a showing of Nick's actual control over the trust could vitiate any spendthrift provisions, and in part because their originally taking title in the trust's name (rather than the more common approach of taking title in personal names and then quitclaiming into the trust afterward) could even jeopardize assertion of a homestead exemption against judgment execution. Only Nick could so thoroughly bungle such a simple transaction.

How likely is it that Balldo had a nice bout of defiance and just stopped paying his mortgage?
It seems less likely that it was intentional, and more likely that he just messed something up and forgot to ever check.
Something like he thought that he'd set up automatic direct deposit correctly, but he actually messed up the numbers somewhere, so none of the money had actually been going through this whole time.

He wouldn't just refuse to pay the mortgage, right?

He's obstinate, not delusional. He knows that he can't just tell a bank "no" and expect them to give up on trying to get their money. That's not how banks work.
Even if he doesn't value it as his family's home, the place where his children have grown up, he still must value it as his crack den. It's his little bat-cave of cocaine that he can scurry back to whenever he needs to do another line. There's no WAY he could ignore or give up on that house if he didn't have to.

... right?

I really thought the divorce arc would happen before the homeless arc, damn.
They're probably going to go hand-in-hand.
I don't think that a lot of marriages survive one spouse losing both of the family's two houses.

Why would he take a reverse mortgage back when his streaming is doing its best? Or if it was before that boon, why didn't he pay it off with the influx of cash?

We are going to see kino levels that have never been thought possible before

Question is when they kick the rackets out do they get the property ready for sale and we see the 5 dumptrucks of trash removed from the home or do they just do a horrifying as is auction and someone ends up with an oversized crackshack full of garbage?
we have to get the medallion out of there and destroys it before someone buys the mound of garbage. We don't need the curse to spread to innocent people.
