Sam Hyde

The next message to Elon will be live. You can spend $50 to send TTS messages over the broadcast that Sam ignores.
Ding ding ding! Sam Hyde is a "comedian" equivalent to George Lucas if George became a grifter. While he has amazing talent in editing and filming he is utterly worthless without the help of other professionals (or in Sam's case, two professionals and a handful of friends and a few artists) that tie it all together.

Ok

The man had his mainstream career destroyed because he was smeared as a crypto nazi who secretly donated to a full blown nazi.

I dont think his right wing beliefs are a grift.
Well there was a lot more to that story than just the false nazi donation controversy. Did you ever even look into why the MDE group split to begin with? Sam was a shitstirrer and helped get his career killed for the memes and trolls essentially at least according to Nick & Charls who were looking to do a car focused show on adult swim. Sam ended up dragging them down with him with escalations and while you may believe it was within his right to make edgy jokes at a miserable time and a miserable landscape in media that still permeates to this day there isn't much of a solid defense for Sam because he was warned many times by his own friends. Sure it was funny at the time but none of that changes the sequence of events. Sam could have at numerous points saved his own career like Andrew Ruse and Kurush did. Not that I mind it of course, it was funnier to defy the expectations of a Hellish and restrictive corpo landscape and ended up paying off well. But before 2022 I'd honestly say we would still be stuck reminiscing about MDE, Sam lucked out.

It's hilarious following Sam and hearing him over the last few months talking about "going full right-wing grifter" and when he does people still fall for it lol
All politicians are self-interested, manipulative actors who occasionally tell the truth like the Devil quoting from scripture because it gets them power and privilege. You do not have to be a genuine person to be an agent of effective, positive change. Our entire political system is built on that idea.

And I don't know how long you've been following Sam and the MDE guys, but it's always been obvious they all lean right. That's why their shit is actually transgressive in the modern age.

I only watched 5 minutes. If he thinks glazing Elon about how great he is will make him change his mind then he's missed the point. Elon wasn't *mistaken* this is a mask off moment about his contempt for regular people and his actual plans. It's clear Elon didn't buy twitter out of patriotism and love of free speech, it's strategic. He's finnagled his way into helping lead a government which among other things supplies him with contracts.

Indicate it and make a chart then because if humor that goes against the grain of what is acceptable makes them right leaning, you sound almost exactly like the people who helped try to kill MDE in the first place through a basic and juvenile misunderstanding of how comedy works. I would hate to point out that leftists used to do this all the time in the late 80s and especially the 90s when the opposite was happening almost and by Sam's own word a lot of shit they did on MDE was commonplace in the 90s and 2000s on network TV when people weren't so sensitive. Even then, why would anyone give a fuck about their political beliefs when it is all of their inspirations that connected and lined up which helped form thanks, computer and MDE? An odd group of people coming together by fate to make funny videos that made the 2010s bearable.

When a black woman speaks, I stand at attention. Then I sit down out of respect. Then I stand back up in reverence. Got lots of calisthenics in during this video.

It's something like this. Charls the schizo is the key to the puzzle. It is incomprehensible to get where I come from without looking into everyone beyond Sam at least when it comes to old MDE. It's me who's stuck in the past I guess. Now it just feels like we're the mainstream and acceptable which would be a dream back then, now it feels empty and shallow since I got used to everything MDE related being made into a boogeyman like this site was, I enjoyed getting people into it before they came back. Them coming back was one of the highest notes that had more weight than Trump winning again for me. Now I'm just concerned since they've held off on this for a long time and because the audience became so fucking thin skinned it's no better than the Adult Swim staff who sabotaged the show just on a different team of moralfagging and political sperging. Challenges are important, they define everything and now what game is there to play for MDE after WP2? I reckon nothing aside from standup tours and fishtank. I just hope they all retire on a nice high note whenever that day comes.

Actually, it is about the Indian hate for me.
Screw optics, I'm going in.
Sam isn't that smart he just knows how to perform.
Ding ding ding! Sam Hyde is a "comedian" equivalent to George Lucas if George became a grifter.

Concerning yourself with the talent of Sam Hyde is irrelevant. Sam says in his video that we do not select the men who move society. Whether you think he's funny or a hack, he still is known and will be known as a comedian of note in this era. Much like you aptly named George Lucas as a famous director of the 20th century, though perhaps not the same scale.

To your deeper point though, I agree that Sam's true opinions are not really the point here. In the past, it was understood that celebrities who got famous for one thing shouldn't have their opinion of politics taken too seriously. Some would like to think of Sam differently, like he's a court jester who speaks truths through comedy, but I believe this interpretation is a symptom of the Trump era, or maybe even going further back into the 90's. Who would seriously consider Yakov Smirnoff as someone who should tell them how to vote or which businesses to frequent?

The interesting part here is that Sam decided to put out a narrative mocking the position of the people with power. Correctly creating a video for the masses to watch, spread and comment on adding fuel to the fire that was created in the last few days. If there is one mark of a true comedian is that they speak uncomfortable truths that amuse the people who may lack the ability or fortitude to make such public statements themselves.

Why does Sam Hyde do his hardest to try to look like Leon Trotsky?
