He's been involuntarily restricted. This is for the continuing legal education requirement. I was surprised he initially got suspended for non-payment of fees and not his CLE hours but it looks like he got a short extension to complete his credits which he then squandered. Now he can't practice law.Seems he is not "Authorized to Practice Law = Not Authorized"
Rekieta was CLE category 1 which means he had to turn in 45 credit hours for the 3 year period ending June 30, 2024. He had until August 31 to do that. However, I think there's an additional grace period where you can apply for an extension until the end of the year and it would be automatically granted. He seems to have done that. If he were to have applied for an extension later than that it's more complicated.
Depending on how many hours he's short (I assume he's done almost none), this isn't a quick fix where he can just pay to get it fixed immediately even though he'll still have to pay for courses to get his hours in if he wants it done even just relatively quickly.
He's listed as "CLE Status: 1" which I believe means that he should have turned in the CLE requirements by August 31 for the three year period ending June 30 2024. Would he have been moved to involuntary restricted with respect to the CLE requirement before being dinged for non-payment of fees that were due in October? I'm wondering if what happened is that he requested an extension until the end of the year for the CLE and then afterwards realized there wasn't enough free courses for him to complete it. Or maybe CLE was the one thing he kept on top of?
