I hate a visceral hate for podcasts, that are supposed to be informative, where the hosts start talking about their personal life, their politics or anything else unrelated to the topic of discussion, if I'm listening to a podcast to learn how to use Django I don't give two shits if you think that there are too many white males in tech (both the hosts of the podcast were white men btw), in this particular podcast the hosts spent 50% of the podcast talking about the topic at hand and the rest was them talking about politics, shilling their courses/books or saying self-serving things in general, I also tried to watch a podcast about web dev stuff and in the first episode the hosts introduced a special segment about stuff they bought recently, one of them said that he bought those shitty adjustable dumbbells because he wants to get in shape, why would I care if someone that I don't know and I don't care about bought adjustable dumbbells?
Not only that, but I made a real effort in finding podcasts about various topics and 98% of them are the most uninformative, ego masturbatory, retarded waste of time you could think of, one thing that I like saying when talking about this with friends is that I could watch 50 episodes of this shit and barely learn anything of value, that is terrible if the entire purpose of me listening to this is learning while doing something else, even using my internal voice to think about stuff I need to do or to think about solutions to problems while I do chores would be a better use of my time.
I also hate how they clearly try to sell you garbage products that they created, such as classes or books, when I could get the same information online for free or from a better source, I understand that for them a podcast is a marketing tactic in order to sell their products, but I'm not paying $80 to learn Javascript from your stupid course when I could learn it for free, and this shilling is also a waste of time.
