In the wake of the Rackets revelations, I am going to reiterate this. Jim fans better hope he's tax compliant when it comes to his death and/or he and "Sophia" filed separately. If it turns out that there is a tax delinquency on his passing and they filed jointly, she could find herself in the Racket's position. Filing separately for 2024 won't work if the tax liability was incurred in a year that they filed jointly. Of course, Jade isn't a public figure and even if she does get hit with some sort of massive tax lien against the house, it won't be a matter of public spectacle. Jim and Jade have proven repeatedly in the past that they think they are smarter than their collectors and their track record is 0-5. If they go 0-6, the stakes will be much higher.

There may be a few time zones where it is still 12/25, but this is very tame. This applies regardless of what you think or how you feel about Jim or taxes. For Jade's sake, I hope Jim has been tax compliant on all earnings in the last 5 years since he started his hat merchant vendor. If you want to say "tax evasion is based" or that the fed. gov. doesn't deserve your money, I'll agree, BUT it is worth noting that any tax delinquencies will need to be settled upon estate transfer. Hopefully Jim did not treat his tax bill like his credit card bills, because if he got out of part of his tax bill by underreporting or something similar and it went undetected previously, there is a chance that the IRS will take a closer look upon estate transfer. For Jim and Jade's sake, hopefully they hired a money manager or accountant of some repute to manage the hat merchant money, because if he dies and his estate is found to contain a tax delinquency, that could result in a need to liquidate assets just to pay the bill. I'm not accusing Jim of tax fraud, but he thought he could cheat the credit card companies and he was wrong. For everyone's sake, let's hope that his 2019 debt settlements came with a sincere change in the way he approaches his finances. This is not a dog whistle to tip off the IRS or anything of that nature, just noting that it is a very real possibility that could occur upon estate transfer.
