I did 't even realise fembois had a flag or movement, I thought it was just an overused internet meme/way for faggots to not admit they're trannies
The flag isn't exclusive to them -- it's supposedly meant to specifically represent gay men, as opposed to the rainbow flag, which represents the LGBT community as a whole. You only see it on Reddit because Redditors are the only people autistic enough about flags to give a shit.

Maybe I’m showing my age but does femboy mean something different today? I always took it as just being an effeminate guy. Not necessarily into putting on dresses and shit and having one foot already in the tranny grave, but more about being that stereotypical gay guy in media: lispy queeny voice, most friends are girls, very involved in stereotypically girly hobbies and interests and not so much into stereotypically masculine ones. Not much different than a twink, right?
Twink is a body type, whereas femboy is more of a mode of presentation, in theory. In practice it's a hivemind of very online teenagers who wear identical black pleated skirts with striped socks and are one Discord grooming session away from ordering HRT. I'd argue a lot of them aren't even gay.

Incidentally I have a similar attitude towards self-described femboys as I do furries. There's nothing morally wrong with the concept, but the label attracts so many freaks & sex pests that if someone identifies with it I'll mentally file them under "deranged" until proven otherwise. Just be a guy who prefers feminine clothes if you really have to. (Or an anthropomorphic animal enthusiast.)

I hate how trannies look. It's so viscerally disgusting to me. Femboys too, to a certain extent.
Crossdressing as a man (as in, actually pulling it off) requires a certain amount of fashion sense. Enough fashion sense to know that it's nearly impossible to make a man look good in a dress. It's paradoxical really.

It is just gross to me. I don't know. Even ones that pass disgust me. I prefer women crossdressing as men. Makeup and fake nails and wigs make me want to puke. This is true on women, and even more so on men. I like masculinity.

I'd be interested to see your dating profile lol

What is the difference between a femboy and a trannie, aren't they both just groomed boys in dresses with absent fathers?
Now that I've read some more on this topic, the difference is that both terms refer to different things. This is to my understanding, and taking into consideration that the latter term is malleable, probably different depending on who you ask.

- Transgenderism refers to "gender identity", i.e: someone who believes to be/identifies with a gender that they were not born into.
- Being a femboy refers to "gender expression" (that should exclude cis/trans-females), i.e: someone (a man, non-binary, trans-male, or non cis/trans-female) who pursues or is more comfortable with certain aesthetic & even behaviour.

For example, a trans-man would be a femboy if they achieve the aesthetic (which is subjective on what that exactly is), but so would be a gay man, or a non-binary (or even an "AMAB" heterosexual man).

The point is that the latter doesn't tell you anything about what they believe their gender to be as, while the former (transgender) does and is in theory non related with aesthetics (even though it plays an important role, but technically as long as they identify with another gender, they are qualified to be one).

That seems to be the theory, however if you're asking "well, then what's the balance of femininity/masculinity that needs to be achieved to be a femboy?", then it's obviously heavily subjective as mentioned.

If someone who identifies as a woman were to say that they're a "femboy", that should be incorrect to my understanding, the correct term here should be tomboy instead (and is equally concerned with aesthetics/behaviour).

That's just being a woman but with extra steps.
Far as I can tell "femboy" is just another porn/fap fantasy thing like tomboy, goth, mommy, tradwife, etc.

Passing ones don't exist. Agreed about crossdressing men though.

I have a legitimate question for the gaywis in this thread.

What's the deal with people - almost exclusively online - who can't just describe themselves as "gay"? They have to go way overboard and say shit like "I'm ridiculously, obnoxiously gay". What exactly are they trying to say? That they're living stereotypes?

It almost comes across like they believe homosexuality is inherently better, and they're even gayer than regular gay because they're simply that morally superior. It's like the gay equivalent of a religious person calling themselves "extremely devout".

Does that sort of signaling bother non-cluster B gay people as much as it bothers me?

They just want attention, brownie points and are not real people most of the time. They are pure flanderizations, with no difference from an AI. Your question is illegitimate in its nature.

Attention whores craving attention, simple as that. And yes, it is annoying, especially when people find out you’re gay and act baffled because you don’t act like Jack from Will & Grace

I find a lot of the time it's overcompensation for some perceived fault. Back before "trans = uwu" was a thing, it was "omg im gay feel bad for me T_T", which was when a small but significant minority of women identified as "bisexual" or "lesbian". Typically these people would be young adults who haven't found anything skillwise to be proud of, and so they drift towards their alleged sexual orientation (or "identity" in today's parlance) to get sympathy points and use it to get into communities without much effort. Now that being trans is "valid", we're getting a lot of people well into their adulthood clinging on to some "queer" identity to make themselves feel better and have a self-appointed licence in being morally superior to everyone else.

Being LGB by itself is no longer special. Due to the activism treadmill, being a tranny or qUeEr nets you more ass-kissing than being LGB ever did with less than half the suffering.

I remember years ago reading about Best Little Boy In The World syndrome, I think it was made up/asserted in the 60s or 70s. The idea was, the gays used overachievement to distract from their sexuality; stop asking me if I'm still single, look at how successful I am! Nowadays, it's likely attention. There aren't many areas of modern life where you'll get someone raising a fuss, but the twentysomethings like collecting the tumblr genders and sexualities for fun now.

His question is completely legitimate, as we have to put up with these infuriating homos constantly. You can't deny that your community produces these affronts to basic manners and decency at an astonishing rate.
