Multiple people have allegedly been killed after a vehicle ploughed through a crowd of revellers on New Orleans' famous Bourbon Street in the US, according to local media and eyewitnesses.

New Orleans Police Department said that a lorry may have run down the group on the street, which is in the Louisiana city's French Quarter.

Witnesses speaking to CBS News claimed that a vehicle crashed into a crowd at high speed, and then the driver got out and started firing a weapon, with police returning fire.

It was unknown how many people have been killed or injured, but unconfirmed reports on social media claimed it is a "mass casualty" incident.

The incident allegedly occurred around 3.15am local time at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville.

In a post on X, a journalist at local news outlet WGNO-TV wrote: "NOPD source states that as many as 10 fatalities after driver in pickup truck plowed into crowd on Bourbon Street.

"Multiple more injuries. Mayor and police chief on scene," he added, though this has not yet been confirmed.

Can a milsperg interpret the fruit salad for us?

@JosephStalin ?
1. That nigger was in the Air Force 40 years ago. He is not the end all be all of mil knowledge.

2. I was in the 82nd so here's what he's wearing:

Top left the bronze jump wings is German parachutist badge. Most likely gotten during the Christmas toy drop where they raffle off toys for charity for the chance to jump with a foreign jump crew and/or bird. Most likely jumped into Bragg with a foreign jump crew, possibly jumped in Germany if he had went over for a training rotation.

Above that is his branch insignia. Can't make it out but it's for whatever his military operational specialty was.

Underneath those are unit citations . Everyone wears them and they are for various operations from WW2 up to today.

Under that is a deployment patch for the 25th infantry division. This means he did a combat deployment in the 25th, they are primarily based in Hawaii with a small portion of the unit in Alaska.

On the right starting at the top:
What appears to be normal jump wings on his unit crest. Nigger was probably too dumb to graduate jump master or if he did he hadn't reached enough jumps to put a star on it

Army commendation medal with one oak leaf cluster. Means he was awarded this twice. Reasons for it vary. Not a valor award but he did something worth recognition. For example I received one for completing a soldier of the year competition.

Army achievement medal with one oak leaf cluster. Same as above but something that was below a commendation medal. For example I got one for something I did on an airborne field op.

Next one is the army good conduct medal with an oak leaf. This means he's done at least six years of service without fucking up. Standard award. Means you're not a retard.

The one next to that is the National Defense service ribbon. It means he served during war time. Everyone got one of these from 2001 until I think 2018 or 2019. Means nothing

Next one is the Afghan campaign ribbon. Means he deployed to Afghanistan

The multi colored rainbow one is the Army service ribbon. Another participation award. The rest I can't make out with the resolution but I think one is the ISAF ribbon which is the NATO award for Afghanistan.

Ultimately he has a very pedestrian rack for a SSG. No combat badges or anything outside of normal Army life.

The red cord is another unit award for what the 82nd did during WW2.

I will laugh so hard when it comes out the sand niggers got the regular nigger to do their dirty work. Cuz that’s what it’s looking like. Allegedly there is a mosque close by
tbf the dude was caught in the perp home among many other people. It would be extremely stupid if he was actually involved and still staying at the home after the incident.

Some top-down shots of the truck, from this article (a).

x marks the spot (that's blood from the driver's head in the lower right corner).

Seems possible that they had planned to detonate the bombs at midnight, and then strike the crowd in vehicles afterwards. Perhaps the bombs failed, and this was plan B after trying to set them off or fix them?
the driver was approached by a state trooper well after midnight, which seems to be what prompted him to enter into traffic (move along), then suddenly turn onto bourbon street.

considering that one explosive device was found at the intersection of bourbon street and orleans street (at the very center of the french quarter), and that the remote detonator for two of the devices as well as more explosives were found in the truck (see this post), i think that the truck was meant to be the inciting event, and that the explosive devices were meant to be detonated by the driver as law enforcement responded. i think that the driver capitulated about driving into the crowd, did so way later than planned, panicked once he was in the midst of the crowd, and then was shot down before any of the explosives were detonated. i also think that his co-conspirators torched his air bnb to obfuscate the investigation after he was killed.

This is one lucky redhead.

That is truly fucking insane luck. If she had been any slower, she would've been pasted.

That seems to be possible, although I wonder if the co-conspirators also had planned a sequence of bombing. They said that they were planted around the city. What's the range on a typical IED? I'm not a jihadi terrorist so I've got no idea, but I can't imagine a homemade device has that large of a radius?
