Drop it once the Jack fight is over because just about everything else is fanfiction tier.
Including the gaiden manga where
actually that wasn't the REAL jack the ripper and was instead some wholesome women respecter cosplaying as Jack the Ripper in an attempt to hunt down the real one and also so that people won't forget the evil that was the real jack the ripper.

During the pandemic, I made the snap decision to purchase and read the entirety of the Dorohedoro series after watching only the third episode of the anime. It's the only manga series I physically own. I love this series with all my heart and am currently reading Dai Dark

Speaking of tournament battle manga, is Tenkaichi worth picking up again? I remember reading it and then getting unreasonably mad at the MC from Nioh jobbing like a bitch to "muh image training" and honestly I don't think there's much discussion on /a/ outside of wanking off to the redhead muscle ninja girl. not that I blame them, sexiness aside she's a cool design.

Fanservice isn't a crutch, it's just the old "sex sells" marketing tactic to increase popularity more. It often brings down otherwise good anime, but it isn't always there solely to cover for a bad product.

Hell no, then you can't have too much violence. Death Note wouldn't exist if it was up to you then, and it's one of the best anime.

Not everything is for children and it shouldn't be, if you can't handle mature subject matter then that's a personal problem.

There's some shit you can't look past. There's something called "Goshujin-sama to Kemonomimi no Shoujo Meru" I tried when I was on a bit of a light-hearted slice-of-life kick, it had cute art but turned out to be yuri, and even though it was otherwise good I dropped it. If it was platonic, sisterly bonding kinda thing it'd be nice.

Amen. Sometimes the content is NOT worth wading through piles of creepy bullshit for. I've dropped entire series for that, because it's clear it's just a fucking fetish, fuck the story.

Makeine dominated the year-end Light Novel Awards. Well-deserved imo, and this is a much higher honor than winning a (((Crunchyroll))) award.

It's also exciting to see that a first girl in a harem got second place in Best Character voting, since usually these girls are bland and people prefer another girl. Yanami's great, though.

It hits its stride in the second season, the first is a typical low effort 12 episode commercial for gachaslop, but if you can get through that, the second season is way more compelling and emotion-invoking than you'd ever expect a series about racehorse kemonomimi idols to ever be. The third season isn't quite as good, but is still a decent watch.

Bit of a swerve, but I do wonder if the fourth Madoka Magica film will actually be released this year.

Man, it's been 12 years now since the third one. Granted, that film is an extremely hard film to top, so I don't envy them waiting so long to begin production on it.
