Yes, but I think there's also a weird, misplaced family thing. Think about it, he's gone his whole life thinking his grandma was his mom, his dad was his brother, his aunts and uncles are also his brothers, etc. On top of that, he believed Gordon (his stepdad) was his dad, until Gordon made Sally tell him the truth. So, he immediately does the same to his own potential kids: he says he's their dad, despite being (at best) their step dad.

If some lolcow cross-pollination is allowed, Steve recently covered a documentary about KingCobraJFS's Gothic Dee saga. While Josh doesn't exactly raxx out after being rejected by a goth gurl, he makes almost point by point the same arguments and taunts as Chance would in a similar situation. It's fascinating.
