I doubt they were groomed. It has to do with zoomer sociology, and isn't even really related to lockdowns or anything - those were just accelerants. The "core", as in any generation, is the time they were born at. We could say that the zoomers, at the widest definition, are the generation born between 1995 and 2008. Important to note that the earliest crop, 1995-98 and to some extent 98-03 are "tamer" and "more good" (but these things have no intrinsic meaning to the zoomer)If they weren't, you know, actually trying to fuck children, I'd give them a headpat with the same look a father gives his paraplegic daughter when she asks him if she'll ever be a ballerina.
Ah, and this actually brings to mind something, considering how the oldest person in that group is 23, did you know that O9A's and ToB's Noctillian shit goes back to 2014? Ten bucks says that most, if not all the active members of this particular group were groomed back when they were teenagers and kids themselves, which is why they do it now.
One thing about zoomers - is that it's a generation that is without exception, "gang-like". Everything comes down to the friend-enemy distinction, and is extremely fickle (hence constant splintering and such). "Bad and good" comes down entirely to "things my enemies like or believe in" and "things my friends like or believe in". "Emily, 16" was a meme because zoomers simply spontaneously skinsuit causes like uniforms - "you believe in that? You must adopt such and such mannerisms and aesthetics". They're fanatics, each and every single one. If this reminds you of the 2000s soylennial purity spiraling about "posers", you'd be correct, except the eternal Zoomer is purity spiral incarnate.
Another consequence of this is "irony vs reality" - another distinction unnatural to zoomers. They manage to simultaneously be profoundly unserious and deadly serious, and this entirely depends on who they're talking to and at what moment they're talking. If they "clock" whomever they're speaking to as "theirs", they'll literally seamlessly change the tone and approach mid-sentence.
A real case of "blue and orange morality" if I've ever seen one.
