Week 1 challenge will be posted sometime in the morning. I thought about originally posting it near midnight tonight but I still have some things to get ready, bare with me :)

The challenge will have a post as well as its link within the OP near the bottom, so both. It will also get announced in the community happenings too.

No rush, just wanted to know how you planned to go about it. Thanks for the reply.

From the ages of cavemen, Egyptians, Mayans and Aztecs, to the Romans and Greeks. Humanity has come a long way, over the centuries they have imparted a wealth of history that was often logged on large slabs of stone with carvings, tapestries on fabrics, and scriptures on papyrus. These were all used to capture a moment of time in those societies, and they have something in common: lines! Be they curved, straight, jagged, or a combination. All artistic works since the beginning of time originate from the basic concept of line work.

Challenge!!!

This technical challenge and the annals of kiwi history want you to instill a cave painting/drawing, wall carving, tablet of stone with text, or an ancient scripture of undeciphered characters that would share a chronical of our past for future societies to ponder over. All on paper of course!

What you choose doesn't have to reference anything specific on the farms itself, but it could if you want it to. Perhaps you want to make a kiwi cave drawing of Neanderthal kiwis hunting for some lolcows. Maybe you're a fan of fonts from a certain era or typography, you could even make your own symbols that might never be deciphered.

Submission format
Be sure to add these descriptions to your submissions

Title: Name of your submission
Medium: Did you use a pencil, pen, a program. If so what kind.
Challenge Name: Technical Line Work
Description: Tell everyone what's happening in your piece! Doesn't have to be long unless you crafted some lore rich detail for it.
Time Spent: If you choose not to share, be sure to log it for yourself somewhere on the back to track progress.
Art Specific Critique: Yes/No (If yes, include an intensity like harsh or light)
Challenge Feedback: Too bland? Was it specific enough? Got an idea you've had for awhile that might make for a good technical/creative challenge? Share it all!

Drawing References

These are very important and will help in sculpting what you might have in mind if you cant etch it out from imagination. Dont be afraid to use something that's already made if you think it looks cool, just be sure to put a personal touch so that it stands out as yours.

Perfectionism

Its ok to make mistakes, dont get hung up on things not looking exactly right. Lines might not be as straight, symmetry could slightly be off, noticing that there are mistakes is just as powerful as not making them at all.

Addendum

The deadline has been changed and is on the OP from 7 days to the full 14, this is so that everyone has plenty of time to pace themselves.

Try to spend some time each day to draw, as little as it might be. I'm amped to see what everyone makes, good luck and have fun!
