This reminds me of the fires back in 2012 iirc when I lived near Pasadena. The entire sky back then seemed like some sort of hell scape with how red it was. On top of that with the Santa Ana winds coming around this time its probably going to be worse than that.
Visiting LA Kiwi here. Hadn’t been back to visit in a long time and figured I’d beat the cold for Christmas.
Far from the blaze luckily, where Los Angeles actually is— this city is fucking
massive, and people who think it will completely burn to the ground don’t understand that, or perhaps are just hopeful.
As of right now in central LA, far from the blaze, the air is choked and it’s almost impossible to breathe, if you’re an asthmafag, or a fan of clean air. Most of yesterday, the air on this part was fine. The sky is yellow and thick and visibility is bad. Wind is whipping like a motherfucker.
I remember one year when I was here as a kid where the sky was burnt orange and the sun was blood red. As much as I despise Newsome, there has never been a politician in my lifetime good with dealing with fire issues.
Some places have flood season, snowstorms, hurricaine season, tornado season; LA has choke out the blood of you fires, every fucking year.
It’s always devastating, and always reported as such here. It must be going national this time because of the rich types being affected.
Stay safe, Cali kiwis. I should’ve stayed for the snow.
