Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Just watching on Fox News, some guy's house is right next to another on fire, and he's loading his car up with artwork.
Honestly, I get it. You can think it's crazy because it kind of is, but I get it. That hurts my heart to think of the people who are losing items that are sentimental and/or high value. California isn't just rich people/elites

Also, some people may have insurance policies that require them to take every possible course of action to prevent or reduce loss when the person knows that the property insured against is in imminent danger. If they fail to do so, then the company can deny the claim. I don't know how that would hold up, though, considering that a reasonable person would assume that it's probably not safe to be inside your house if the house directly adjacent is up in flames. Insurance policies in general can have very specific provisions, but I'd say especially when it comes to particular types of personal property, artwork being one of them

Can some Burger knowledgeable with the subject educate us Euros why those huge wildfires can't be properly prevented?
To add to of all the responses you've gotten, and I don't think I saw anyone mention, is that the past year has been bone dry here in Southern California. There has been almost no rain whatsoever. For the past month or two, its a little colder at night than usual, but otherwise it's basically been Summer all year down here. I'm not going to muh climate change but it has been really odd weather.

The only reason there's vegetation is because humans pump fresh water from two states away to make it habitable. It's a natural desert.
Not in the hills you retard, those grasses are native. All the people jerking off about eucalyptus ignore the dozens of perfectly flammable native plants that actually carry the fire.

Ah, shit. This is going to create more smog on the East Coast, isn't it?
They refuse to do proper controlled brush fire to clear the underbrush and remove the dead wood even trump knew about it and talked on joe roagan show I shit you not . Notice how this shit doesnt happen in red states where they do proper forest managment and dont have paperwork to file in the name of saving the planet and shit.
Correct. California's forest management bureau is fucking retarded.

Why would you purposely put EUCALYPTUS TREES in an area known for DROUGHT CONDITIONS, SANTA ANA WINDS, AND NATURAL DISASTERS??? make this make sense!

Ah, shit. This is going to create more smog on the East Coast, isn't it?
The winds are more likely gonna make it to Mexico or get filtered out through the rockies. All the smog in NY/NJ last year was due to a fire in Quebec, I believe.

Someone else probably already said but one big part of it, is retards planted a whole fuckton of Eucalyptus trees in Cali.
They're very fucking flammable. That's only part of it, but it really doesn't help. It's a bunch of things, like planting super flammable trees damn near everywhere in a fucking dry arid climate that was already ripe for fires in the first place.

California has been doing the best job it can to fuck itself for years now. It's amazing it's still standing if I'm being honest.

I'm sure he's packed up his Funko Pop collection and drove to the Barbie Dream House to rescue Dax and his big Purple Strapon.
I love imagining Diddler Dax riding Pedo Vito like a Yoshi as they try to escape. Marie and the baby, obviously back at the house while it burns.

They gotta rescue Maddox too. He can't afford to lose Sean AND his celeb crush in under a year.
