Its not because of the technology, although the tech does make it easier for others to swallow BS ideas. The issue is the inherent nature of communities. Normal people will go into fringe communities and become more fringe themselves due to basic human biology of wanting to fit in. Sometimes its fun; I actually like the CRT craze and think we'd be more normal if we went back to analog devices. But sometimes its obviously crazier like the troon craze where people are essentially brainwashed into condoning anything.

My point is that tech makes it worse, but we've had stuff like this in the 90s or the 80s happen. It happens in any cult, and the like environments. If everyone around you is saying bullshit, it makes it easier for you to believe and say bullshit.

Well yeah, why do you think most of them have retard strength? You can paint a mountain a couple hundred times, and get the details different, but as long as the picture looks right overall, and has roughly the same potential in some ways, probably.
