Southern California is literally desert and the Santa Ana winds are a yearly occurrence. We didn't have these constant fires when I was growing up because (gasp) the state actually maintained the land, infrastructure and gave police and fire fighters the resources it needed instead of spending the budget on illegals, homeless and gay orgies.

Surely California would be able to pull tankers from somewhere to ferry seawater or a municipal supply from elsewhere. A poor alternative to pulling off hydrants, but an alternative nonetheless.

I’ve performed tanker ops from a pond before in ruralfuckistan, but pulling from the ocean is a new one on me.

I was thinking, how is it possible that a fire-prone state could only use seawater in a glorified bucket-line way, from fire truck to fire truck? Why wouldn't they have pulled together a contingency plan after all this time?

Of course, the answer is that they WANT the state to burn in the name of climate change. Welp, be careful what you wish for I guess.

North Hollywood is a different city. The Hollywood sign is south on the other side of the mountains, past the Getty. The SF Valley is already suffering from the flood of illegals and homeless. Burbank is nice, but Glendale and Sierra Madre (out by Altadena) are beautiful. I hope for the best.

A neighbor didn't care for his property for years and years and a lawnmower hitting a pebble was enough to set off a 10k acre fire. I'd imagine that entire state is just a matchbox waiting to go off.
The only thing I've ever come across when clearing brush was pill bugs and lizards. It chokes the forest floor.
If you've got property chances are your state will pay you a few grand to rent a kubota and plow for a couple hours.
