Honestly, given the chaos, I'm REALLY surprised people aren't just lighting inner city shit on fire for the hell of it. Fire services are crippled, people are pissed, I imagine a dozen down and outs spending their last 20 on gas and molotoving shit inside the city would be all it would take for things to get far worse.People might just shoot Californians on sight.
They sent Ukraine trucks that have no gear, hose or tools? Press x to doubt. This is being blown way out of proportion. In spite of the gross statewide governmental mismanagement. LA Fire does have a very definitive apparatus replacement scheme. Trucks get replaced i think typically at 5 years like clockwork. Remember California spends taxpayer money freely. Now outside of NYC or Chicago most fire trucks will comfortably last 10, 20 even 30 years. So normally there is a market for secondhand 5 year old trucks. But LA produces a lot of them. And they really aren't always a great deal. As like NYC LA puts a lot of hard use on them. So they can't unload all of the surplus old shit domestically.
So they get sat in a parking lot somewhere. They can't just bring them back into service. They have no gear for them. No hose. No radios. No tools or fittings. All of that gets transferred to the new trucks.
So basically they just sent Ukraine a bunch of excess trucks that they couldn't sell to Mexico.
Now they're naming fires? Christ, it was bad enough when they had to start naming snowstorms like they do hurricanes because the media had to hype up a blizzard to get ratings (and ad revenue) but now fires?KTLA 5 reporting 5th fire in acton NAMED LYDIA
I have not read the whole thread, but I will add this: the ecology of the USA West Coast is built around wildfires. There are native plants which grow best with regular fires; they have adaptations which allow them to regrow vigorously after a burn. Humans obviously do not like our shit getting burnt on a regular basis, but the plants and animals in the region are used to this.
How many Ukrainians does it take to screw in a fire hose? It depends on how long it takes them to realize the Americans didn't give them one. They sent Ukraine trucks that have no gear, hose or tools? Press x to doubt.
So I'm guessing the two incomplete cremations are the two confirmed dead?
Saltwater is corrosive. Why cant they use seawater to put out fires?
I looked it up and the answer is that the salt would corrode firefighting equipment. Why cant they use seawater to put out fires?
i assure you people have said the exact same about portlandLos Angeles isn’t the leftist monolith you’ve dreamt up in your head. Sure, normal people have been out numbered by decades of importing beaners who of course vote for more gibs, but you retards are acting like the place is Portland when anyone who actually spends time in the area can tell you it’s not.
firefighting equipment they don't really have anymore anywayI looked it up and the answer is that the salt would corrode firefighting equipment.
That's understandable but you'd think it would be considered the lesser of two evils in a case like this.
I've had this exact thought in the back of my mind. I could actually see someone (or many someones) eagerly exacerbating the problem if this goes on for too long, using all the mayhem as cover to destroy more shit after looting everything they can.Honestly, given the chaos, I'm REALLY surprised people aren't just lighting inner city shit on fire for the hell of it.
Not for most, no. But when these weather systems move out and normal airflow patterns return, about 6 million people between San Bernadino and Phoenix will be choking on smoke for days.Is all the smoke and ash in the sky going to cause some freak weather in the rest of the US?
Something something wooden doorsabout 6 million people between San Bernadino and Phoenix will be choking on smoke for days.
I think I will take the fire over literally anyone in LA, thank you very much. Anyone who is going to defend these "people" is free to dive into it as well. I hope this causes enough damage to last years, if not decades, and that people will openly shun Californians fleeing into theirs states like pariahs.I for one am a big fan of the experts in thread pontificating about the state of LA after having taken a family trip to Disneyland once 15 years ago.

Ahh geez. Lets let hundreds if not thousands of people die because saltwater might make a hollywood executives Bugatti rusty.Saltwater is corrosive.

It's a logistics problems, trucking in water from fresh or ocean is just as inefficient. Without hydrant water you just don't have a useful amount. Why cant they use seawater to put out fires?
