Honestly, if the sign itself doesn't go up in smoke, I'm okay with the Dolby Theater and Hollywood Bowl taking the top spot.

I dont recall such behavior being leveled at people who die in hurricanes, earthquakes, floods or any other event. It is so disappointing to see this many KFers with this mindset. People are by and large much the same everywhere - try and work hard, step up the ladder of wealth and give life a go. But heaven forbid they think differently and that they deserve to die. It is so childish and disturbing - I cant imagine these ghouls have good relationships in real life.
These people mocked the people of North Carolina/Florida/etc. and told them that if they didn't want their houses to be destroyed, then they shouldn't have voted for "Climate Change Deniers". Now that their houses are being destroyed, they expect sympathy from the people they attacked. They deserve to be laughed at. No one hates them because of their wealth, everyone hates them because they've always been smug assholes whenever someone else suffers.

i wonder if the whites in la will feel differently now that theyll be the ones who's disaster relief goes towards illegal immigrants while their families are exposed to the elements and starving. id have more sympathy if wasnt for that. welcome to being "hicks" and "peasants" who "need to know their fucking place" in the neo liberal world order

edit "but melty my cousin in la is based" doesnt apply to them and honestly if we did pull our heads out of our asses to help the victims here id be fine with it even if some of them are complete assholes even if we still left the ones in the south to suffer and even if the la ones were still smug, theyre the ones saying no national identity not me. im not god though so ill settle for taking some schadenfreude

I don't know if this is an urban myth or not. Aren't there supposedly oil wells all over LA hidden inside of buildings to not look gaudy? Is this a real thing because I don't imagine an oil field cathing fire would help things any.
These are real.

edit: in addition, there are thousands of old wells that were either left uncapped or improperly capped all over the place.

Must be a good day to be in real estate. You could buy up burnt property cheap from desperate people.

The first ever Roman fire brigade was created by Crassus. Fires were almost a daily occurrence in Rome, and Crassus took advantage of the fact that Rome had no fire department, by creating his own brigade—500 men strong—which rushed to burning buildings at the first cry of alarm. Upon arriving at the scene, however, the firefighters did nothing while Crassus offered to buy the burning building from the distressed property owner, at a miserable price. If the owner agreed to sell the property, his men would put out the fire; if the owner refused, then they would simply let the structure burn to the ground. After buying many properties this way, he rebuilt them, and often leased the properties to their original owners or new tenants

Everyone is saying this is Sodom and Gomorrah. No. This is Pompeii.

A cataclysmic force that destroyed a mighty Roman city in mere hours, freezing people in time under the lava. Given the Roman cues the US takes, I find this more fitting.
I disagree, Pompeii was a volcano. This is a righteous fire guided by god that will cleanse that godforsaken land of all sign of life, and all that will be left will be tales of it, nothing else. This is Sodom and Gomorrah.

There were people saying Western NC and Eastern Tennessee deserved Helene because that area is full of "sundown downs." Most often coming from people living in shitholes like California/New York. I'm going to guess you're Californian and surprised that people don't like wealthy Californians. Just be glad that what people say online won't transfer into how much help California gets, while anti-South sentiment led many Helene victims to be ignored by federal employees because they didn't like the area's politics.
