It looks exactly the rest lmao. It's also most likely not AI just run of the mill /pol/ and /a/ slop

What insurance payouts? It was mentioned earlier in the thread that out of the blue the jews in charge of insurance in CA started mass canceling wildfire policies in 2024, and even if they didn't -- oi vey it's an act of god doncha know?
All States maintain strict control of insurance companies, I imagine it's the same as has been happening to Florida for a couple of decades with storm insurance.
Part of the strict control involves an autistic level of categorization, so companies are allowed to select what they offer....It's a problem.

Last suggestion I saw to fix the issue, was to mandate companies offer the loser fire/storm coverage, if they want to offer the highly profitable automobile insurance. Well, maybe not so profitable car insurance in California.
But that would just shift the cost to the driver, and the driver is for the State to milk.

I wish I could make my own in-thread poll.

1. Nothing ever happens (looks dramatic but it’s not like LA is burning down $10B-$50B in damages)🧯

2. Katrina-tier devestation (the whole county is fucked and >$50B in damages) 🔥

3. Sodom and Gomorrah destruction (>$500B in damage, most expensive natural disaster in world history) ☄️

What do yall think is gonna happen?

I think the jannies should move this thread to Happenings. If worst comes to worst, this could surpass 9/11.
What a sobering thought. Say what you will about the dystopia we live in now and Israel's wars and whatever, but I feel like 9/11 was something of a rare period of solidarity and patriotism for the United States in the wake of a tragedy. It didn't last, but it helped to shape the character of the country in the 2000s and 2010s, for better or worse. I wonder if this firestorm will end up being so bad that it becomes another culturally and societally transformative moment for America.

The worst part about this being true is that this disaster could have been prevented in many ways. This fire is the result of California's terrible political and environmental policies and nothing else.

How the fuck do you have so many fucking empty fire hydrants? This is fucking criminal negligence.
Don't worry, this is the United States where the responsible parties in elected offices will be held accountable or resign in shame.

We have to be currently at 2. I doubt it'll get 3 bad, but things aren't looking good.
