Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Literally the last possible thing that could happen (outside of a riot on 1/20) for the Biden admin is 50 years of shitty Democratic policies causing multiple trillions of preventable fire damage

Amplified by
  • A mayor who fucked off to Africa for photo ops and who can't even handle a basic bitch journalist asking questions without permission
  • A governor who literally shipped all the fire trucks to the Ukraine for goodboy points
  • A lispy queer dyke fire chief DEI hire who is explicitly there to "fix the white cis heteronormative patriarchy in firefighting."
  • Laws preventing any fire prevention forestry for decades at the express warning of literally everyone not a far left dunning kruger environmentalist asshole
  • Laws mandating the fire hydrants be literally disabled for lack of water to avoid inconveniencing a fish in a pond
  • God himself going "lol nah fuck these guys in particular"
You couldn't end this on a more succinct note. The mecca of progressive shitlibs is burning to the ground because they've spent most of a century telling anyone with a dissenting opinion that they're big dum stoopid doodiehead white people who deserve to die in a hurricane or flood or tornado like all the other "stoopid rednecks" wot don't even have any carbon credits or DEI scores.

I don't want any hobo crackheads in my city.
Most of SoCal’s problem crackheads can’t leave the state due to them being homeless before the fires.
It's winter.

Best case scenario, the high winds damaged power lines and resulted in a fire.

Most likely scenario: one of the many, many homeless living in the area set a fire to keep warm and it ended up going out of control.
I have a feeling that’s how the Woodley and Sunset fires started, the Runyon and Palisades fires are too rugged for arsonist hobos to crash out in.

Seeing as how you are too stupid/from california im going to explain it very slowly with apple's and orange's.
With almost all natural disasters all you can do is keep everything up to standar and pray, that includes hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, tornados, fires, etc.
California is going to burn, its part of the natural cicle/consequence of having a bunch of schizos and thats fine, but buddy, you can take measures so when your state burns its not as devastating.

But guess what, every time that piece of shit state burns nobody does anything, they just shrug and pretend there was nothing they could have done dood, and when asked why they never implemented one of the hundreds of fire prevention policies that have worked across the world they just sperg out and say MUH ENVIROMENT!
California isn't a unicorn enviroment, there are places as equally as shit when it comes to fires and guess what? They don't fucking burn to the ground every week.
Like i said before, they had DECADES to start getting their shit together, they have refused to do so and now they can reap what they have sown.
Fuck.Em
You're talking shit. This isn't some place like it was in the 50s with a fraction of the population - it is a resource intensive state that without provision of resource wouldn't support the populace it has, it has overgrown itself. Sure, there have been poor policies but nothing in those policies created a drought; reduced humidity and turned the forests into tinderboxes.

I don't see you lecturing people for living in tornado alley; or on coast that constantly get wasted by storms.

Fires are going to happen where you have climate like this regardless of your planning. Now you can call it stupid to live in such a lace where fires are going to happen and I'll call that fair and square if you can also admit building house on the coast is equally as stupid.

Surprise surprise that most of these places burning right now have not actually burned in a very long time, so it isn't like every few years a fire breaks out outside of Pasadena or Runyon Canyon that you can point to and say "see, it happens all the time". Much like homes on the coast, maybe it will get hit, maybe not.

They haven't refused to get their shit together - they have had conflicts of interest which all have their points, in a densely populated state that experiences this type of event with some regularity. But keep in mind how little actually burns given the actual size of the state - it's a tiny amount. Much as they manage natural disasters in other parts of the country where it can be expected, planned for, but not avoided.

You talk like fires destroy thousands of square miles of populated areas all the time there, and it isn't so.

Given the size of California, no fires have ever "burned it to the ground" in living memory as you allude to, so do tell em what other parts of the country have their forests, their climate and regularly burn, but don't burn to the ground (not that LA nor California ever actually has?

I wish I could make my own in-thread poll.

1. Nothing ever happens (looks dramatic but it’s not like LA is burning down $10B-$50B in damages)🧯

2. Katrina-tier devestation (the whole county is fucked and >$50B in damages) 🔥

3. Sodom and Gomorrah destruction (>$500B in damage, most expensive natural disaster in world history) ☄️

What do yall think is gonna happen?
2.5 easily. At least property damage wise, you realize how much valuables and relics are in some of those homes? Fuck man we might even lose history people were keeping selfishly to this. As much as I hate California there are a lot of worldly things going on there.

3.

Fire converges, goes apeshit on ape people, pandemonium, negroid and liberal majority evacuees get cutoff. God gives the reaper a count for the ages.

You also forgot the hundreds of firefighters they fired for refusing to take the jab.

I think this guy with the huge Afro on Fox 11 started the fire.
Live on the block where it started, huh? You knew before everyone else?

A ‘worst-case’ scenario: How giant insurance losses from L.A. fires could affect all Californians

Holy shit, sounds like calling the coming events a shitshow is underselling it! Once the fires are out the real mess begins. Not even including the need policy and other fixes to try and prevent this from happening again. If CA had budget problems before.. oh dear.

inb4 the 500$ FEMA checks from the Helene become 20,000$ fire checks in CA
I’ll be very interested to see the difference between how the two are handled. FEMA is tapped dry (hell, the entire nation is) and it’s not like Trump is going to have any real motive to go out of his way for California anyways. The question will be if they have enough soft power to force the federal government into action.

You should have asked for stickers, like "vote like for 1, dislike for 2, agree for 3," that's the real meta for user-polls.
