Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

They'll find something, anything to talk about other than this in the next week. Expect a mass shooting, expect riots when Trump is sworn in, literally anything other than talking about how a half century of unfettered Democratic rule caused this.

We know this because of how they responded to Maui. I don't see Blackrock buying up all that destroyed Californian land (although if there were any poor neighborhoods, as defined as "houses worth less than 5 million dollars" expect some fuckery), but the rest of the response will be similar.

And expect the local "Blue no Matter Who" faggots to learn NOTHING. The state will blame climate change, the evil red staters and their carbon footprints, or insurance companies, and they'll vote the same fuckers back in again.

The one good thing about this, the only good thing about this, is that it's the end of Gavin Newsom 2028. Sorry buddy, your rule cost your state a trillion dollars because you couldn't tell some hippies that are too fucking stupid to realize how stupid they are no.
The difference is that this one directly hit the beautiful people. They won't let this get buried easily.

No doubt it's been said already but everyone pointing out where the fault lies with all of this n needs to temper their expectations. Because in the near future the unending media coverage of how this happened will be "climate change caused this!"
The Oscars ceremony this year is going to be the most insufferable one in history yet.

Reading through the thread and here's a reminder for people who said this is what Californians voted for

Same thing as in a lot of Blue States where certain parts dominate the rest so no not all of them did vote for it.

I was going to say the coastal areas are all blue, but it turned red this election?.....Does this mean they burned down LA because of a fucking election?

its all blue except for north san diego.

LA is giving us a new maxim:
Vote Blue, Burn Red

What’s the scale of the eucalyptus issue? Could there be a program over say five years of uprooting them and destroying regrowth behind? Can goats be used to clear brush, even if it’s just in firebreaks?

Authorities have released a sketch of the suspect.

Wasn't blue the side obsessed with climate change and enviromentalism?

Now that I'm thinking, Santa Monica's on fire too, let's hope Naughty Dog headquarters gets charred to the ground and all data of neil cuckmann's next trashterpiece gets turned to ash.

Too many people on an arid strip of land, mismanaged by moronic liberal governments who don't work on the actual everyday issues, but instead moralize and grandstand on topics the majority of people do not feel strongly about at all.

If they want to "save" California, they first have to deport half the population elsewhere, stop the water wasting agricultural industry growing stuff in a fucking desert, build back the pointless expansive developments and then stabilize water supply.

So not a chance in fucking hell any of this will happen. Unless it all burns down or gets wrecked by a 9.0 earth quake.
It is all a big homemade problem that was predicted to happen decades ago, but was ignored because of convenience and hubris.

[EDIT] Climate change is also real and has an impact on this as well, but the failure of the local governments to prepare for what was surely to come is astonishing.

Over the past summer, the media and intelligentsia spent a lot of time and effort trying to convince the public that a Black woman was capable of rising to the challenge of leading America.

Considering Kamala
They were so confident they had to get a Jamaican-Jeet abomination to larp as a real down-ass nigga who listened to Tupac in the 80s while smoking mary-juh-hwana ciggarettes

I think an important part is being missed, and while @JosephStalin touched on it, I will in further detail:

The voters repeatedly voted in favor of things that would reduce the odds of wildfires. They voted overwhelmingly to make new resevoirs, to do brush clearance, to set up new methods to get water out east, and to bulk up the fire services. They voted the exact way one should if they want to reduce fires. It was their elected officials going back on their promises and completely failing them at every fundamental level that led to this crisis - refusing to open up the waterways, refusing to dig new wells and resevoirs, refusing to do brush clearance, and focusing on DEI bullshit because what really matters in a crisis is that your fire departments have LGBTABCDEHIJKMNOPQRSUVWXYZ representation. The politicians are the ones who let NIMBY-ism and Environmental groups take precedent over actual fucking infrastructure and genuine state need.

"But Jaimas, that's what they get for voting for Democrats!"
Oh, you sweet innocent retard. You think it's that simple?

The way California's political apparatus is set up, opposition candidates within the left can't even get on the fucking ballot, let alone actual fucking conservatives thanks to horseshit like the "Jungle" runoff system. California's been monoparty rule since the 1980s, and has actively done everything possible from the top down to prevent that paradigm from ever being shifted. The state will manufacture any falsehood, make any claim, kill fucking *anyone* to ensure that absolutely no one can change the balance of power back in a rightward direction. If you don't think that state is more fortified than a campaign map in Command and Conquer, you haven't been paying attention for the last few years.

In short: It is California's entrenched political apparatus that caused all of this. They failed their state at every fucking turn in their arrogance.
The voters are retarded and this is why, in normal countries, fire protection is not related to politics. The people can vote how they like, but their very lives should not be tied to their political leaning because an average Joe does not have the knowledge he needs to make a decision on anything related to fire prevention, flood, earthquake prevention, and so on. These types of decisions should be made only by professionals educated on relevant topics.

Cheering for death and destruction just because people voted differently than you is dumb and soulless. You probably have people who disagree with you politically in your very family, should we execute them and laugh about it?

The voters are retarded
The voters aren't retarded, they voted for the people who ran on fire prevention and "safety", but they did not follow through with the promises.
That is the whole point of the post you just quoted and then you pretended as if "people voting is the problem!!!!!".

The actual fire departments are not controlled by the voters, they are controlled by the local governments, county/city governments and are thereby indirectly impacted by elections, since who controls the government gets to influence the fire department, police department, etc.

Which is as it should be in a representative democracy.
The problem is that politicians lied and misrepresented their agenda, then prioritized diversity programs over keeping fire department effective, well funded and capable of dealing with what was to come.

Contrary to what people are saying, this kind of fire is absolutely not unexpected. Experts have been warning of this scenario for decades, especially with climate change the arid periods and draughts were predicted to increase massively, so it was only a matter of time. Yet, fire departments had funding cut, no new reservoirs were built, water infrastructure stayed trash. WHO THE FUCK STILL USES WATER TOWERS?

It is very clearly a systemic failure and that is 100% the responsibility of the governments and elected officials.
Every single diversity project that was funded was money that could have been used to improve infrastructure, upgrade equipment, hire more personnel. It is absolutely 100% warranted that citizens are upset about the failures of the government to predict and prevent this from happening, because EVERYONE knew it was going to eventually.

[EDIT] Cheering for the status quo burning down is absolutely warranted. Decades of mismanagement lead up to this. I do not think anyone is actually cheering for the death of humans, more for the death of the "Idea of California".

What do you think voters should vote for, the quantity of gay flags on local school? Politics _is_ about matters of life and death, if the voters are retarded, less of them is good.
