It's funny that Tony's complaining about people acting "in darkness" when this is the MO of transgenderism: behind-closed-doors chats with what you might call members of the professional-managerial class, whose liberal (non-US sense) politics and lack of empathy for or solidarity with others means they are unwilling to or incapable of acknowledging the harm that "pro-trans" policies cause. (This is, by the way, exactly the same method used by pedophiles in the 1970s, with the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) involvement with what is now Liberty being the classic case.)

As if to underline this, the motto for UK transactivists was for many years "no debate". Existing organisations had been so thoroughly won over to transgenderism "in darkness" that women had to create new ones just to talk about it, finally dragging the topic out of the "darkness" trans activists wanted to keep it shrouded in. Tony is no exception: his response to public scrutiny of the medical aspects by democratically elected bodies has been to label it state repression, insisting that we instead accept the policies drafted "in darkness" by unaccountable professional organisations.
