CalFire is handling Malibu, LA County Fire is handling Eaton. So possibly optics. With all the talk of cutting funding DEI hiring etc they would obviously be interested in looking as good as possible and hiding any fuck ups.

It's a major earthquake zone. Google up what happens to masonry construction in an earthquake. Wood Structures are much more survivable. Provided they are built to code. Masonry is strong in compression, but is really weak to shear forces. You do not want brick houses in someplace that gets earthquakes.

At least in CA there's a measure of preparedness for earthquakes. Worst earthquake I ever went through was in Illinois as a kid, when the New Madrid Fault burped. In the 1811-1812 time frame there was an estimated 8+ earthquake in the New Madrid Fault area. Far as I know little or nothing has been done there to prep for another big one. When it happens gonna be a catastrophe, suggest multiple Mississippi River bridges will collapse, etc.

Palisades is a mixture of Hollywood elite liberals and Hughes engineers who made a shit ton of money and bought a house there when it was nothing but sand. So there is a weird left-right dichotomy there. I think it is overall more Democratic though.

Something funny about all this is that one of the more conservative parts of Los Angeles, the Palos Verdes Peninsula (where Trump’s golf course is), is very high risk for wildfires, but it has not caught fire at all.

As someone who escaped from California I can confirm the satanic beliefs every Californian has. My weekend day used to usually consist of getting up, praising Satan at the local rapeball game. Then going down to the processed food mart to pick up some aborted lab grown baby fetuses and vegan milk before going down south to help a couple illegals cross the border.

I have since given up these evil ways and I am now a red blooded Americun Republican now I have a wholesome day of beating my wife and kids, harassing minorities, dumping used motor oil in the river, driving drunk, and terrorizing other drivers in my lifted Ford f350(Which has never driven a single inch on an unpaved road).
